Ev'ry morn, at breaking dawn,
The moon grows tired, her face long drawn,
'Til the sun comes marching through,
The cloudy gates o'er meadow's dew.
'Cross the sky, Earth's guards advance
Parading through the great expanse.
Standing by in neat array,
The stars their regal trumpets play.
The blue palace watched in awe;
All seven billion subjects saw
Moon and stars begin to fade,
The golden rays the sun displayed.
There to guard, the day to keep,
The moon the sun did let to sleep.
Did you see down by the way,
The changing of the guards today?
