"When a door opens, another one opens.'

Do you know where that line comes from? No? Don't worry, I don't either. But my grandmother says that a lot. It's her catchphrase. As far as I'm concerned, She invented it. My grandmother is my favorite person. She's super nice, Whitty, and an amazing cook. She's the fifth golden girl that no one has heard off. Woops, I forgot to introduce myself.

My name is miranda. I'm 34 and from New york. My parents are business people for an entertainment company. They travel a lot and I would say with my grandmother. But they are great parents.

Friends? Hah, thats funny. You think I have friends, Oh boy you are wrong. I am that one person that everyone makes fun of no matter what. Whether it's my interest in video games or my learning disability. Or something else that would make up just so they can make fun of me. I just give up trying to make them happy. I keep to myself. Ugh, I need a vacation from my life.

I'm at my grandmother's house. My parents have another big trip, this time to california. So i'm here again. At Least she makes meatloaf, my favorite dinner she makes.

'So how's school, miranda.'

'My grades are great.'

'That's good. Have you made friends?'

'My grades are great.'

'So, its that bad,'

'God, kids are so brutal. I can't stand them anymore. I need a break from my life.'

'What did you say?'

'I need a break from my life.'

'Come with me.'

My grandmother led me to the attic. The attic is full of old furniture and pictures. I have no idea what she's showing me. She leads me to a bookshelf and she pulls a book from the shelf. The shelf moves and reveals a door behind it. The door has a clock on it. It looks like it's set to 7oclock. I'm so confused but my mind is blown.

'What's this grandma?'

'This and magic door.'

'A magic door?'

' a magic door. A door that will give you what you want. If you go through the door the 7 day journey will begin. Everyday, you will be up as somebody else. After the 7th day. You will wake up here. I have used it and so has your mother.

'Cool.'

Is she crazy? I can't believe what she's saying. Either she's telling the truth, or this is the most elaborate joke she has ever told. She does this sometimes to make me smile. So I decided to humor her and go through the door. Why not, I have nothing left to lose. If its fake it will be funny. If its real, it will be one fun adventure.

I opened the door and walked through it.
