Amelia sat in her walk-in closet getting ready for the welcome back dinner party her parents were hosting for her. She didn't know what to expect from the night. After all, this was the first time in 5 years that she had come back to this place which she called home. Right when she thought she was going to start thinking about what happened all those years again, Aaron, her brother came in. Ah, she was thankful he did since she was not interested in having a flashback right now.

"God Amelia, mum and dad are looking for you all over the party. You do know that this is your party and you should be there?"

"Brother dearest, what happened to being fashionably late? Ever heard of that term?" Amelia replied with a playful smile.

No matter how much they fought, she knew that apart from her parents, Aaron was the first person she could lean on whenever she was in any trouble. Overwhelmed by her emotions, she suddenly pulled her brother into a hug.

Continuing their playful banter, Amelia replied, "Don't take this to boost your ego but you are the best brother one could have asked for! Thank you, Ronny."

"Mia, one thing you should know by now is that I hate that stupid name. Alright?" Aaron replied with a scowl on his face.

She very well knew that the only thing that irritated her brother the most was his childhood nickname, Ronny. Suddenly, she remembered that she forgot to ask her brother about his date for this not-so 'small' party their parents were hosting.

"So spill, who's the lucky girl you are bringing to this welcome back party of mine?" Amelia asked with a smirk on her face.

Her brother made a face and replied, "Mia, I haven't asked anyone to be here. This party is for you even though you don't want it. You know how mum and dad act when I get any girl to any party. They start asking questions about when I will be getting married and giving them grandkids. I can't do that anymore."

Laughing, Mia replied. "What happened to that girlfriend of yours? If she isn't here then who's going to keep you company and tolerate your lazy ass? cuz I know I'm not going to do it."

Instead of answering her question, her brother extends his arm out to her and holds out a beautiful blue hydrangea. "Where did you get that?" Mia asked.

"Not the phrase I was hoping to hear but Amelia Williams, would you like to be my date for this party?" Aaron asked with a smile playing on his lips.

Rolling her eyes at her brother's antics, she shoved him playfully and replied, "Oh hell no, Ronny. You are going to bore me to death while you socialize with dad's friends. I can't put myself through all that."

"Oh please, any girl would kill to be right by my side."

"I suppose I am not one of those. Why didn't you ask your girlfriend to tag with you again?"

"But jokes aside, yes I would love to be your date for this stupid party. Let's go and show our faces; otherwise, mum and dad would send a search party for us."

Amelia takes Aaron's hand, and they start walking down the staircase towards the garden where the party was going on in a full swing.

The Williams had everything they could ask for. Owning a massive mansion in Los Angeles needed money, and Keith Williams had more than enough. Their dad was a name partner at the prestigious law firm, Landon Williams Prescot. While Tania Williams was a psychologist, she left her full-time job when Aaron was born. She then started working from home and only went out for appointments she needed to because she wanted to give time to her children and not leave them with nannies all the time.

She was just thinking about her parents when her dad meets them at the bottom of the staircase.

"There you both are! Your mother was about to send a search party looking for you both." Her dad exclaimed. Amelia and Aaron exchanged an amused look at their father's comment.
