A poem.

I’m to be a temple for you to rest in

A little safety net to fall into

A church to come in

To cleanse yourself of all your sins

Only to sin once more

And the sin kills me

Even though the sin is not murder

The sin traps me underneath your body

It traps my cries underneath your palm

It nails my palms to the floor

It holds my skin so tightly I have to crawl out of it just to breathe

Why is it my water that cleanses you?

Why is it my skin being torn?

Why am I pinned down like an insect?

Why do you watch me like I am your prey?

Why do you leave my naked body on the ground?

Why do you leave me unburied?

Surely you must know that I am dead.
