Junichi Uzumaki was born in Amegakure. His mother was widowed a few years before the Third Shinobi War and moved her family to unclaimed territory south of the Land of Earth. Junichi left home at the age of 17 and traveled, coming home once every three months. He was traveling to the Land of Swamps when rumors of Uzushio's revival reached his ears. Out of curiosity, Junichi changed his route and visited the Island of Uzu.
