3rd Person POV
Rachel is in the kitchen, focusing intensely on the scrambled eggs she's cooking. She doesn't notice Gar enter the room, yawning and stretching, "Rach?" He asks, not really expecting anyone else to be in here.
The girl jumps, letting out a startled gasp, "You sacred the shit out of me," She can't help but laugh at her own reaction, turning back to her meal.
"There's irony here," The boy comments, watching her, "You're aware it's, like, super early, right?" He asks with a raised eyebrow.
Rachel simply shrugs, "Yeah, I wanted to make breakfast... You know, for my mom and Avery," She tells him. After coming home last night, Rachel and Gar has stayed up, mostly worried about the two women Rachel had mentioned. Though, they could eventually hear that Avery was more than fine. Bleh.
Gar lifts a coffee pot from beside the girl, "I'll make the coffee," He informs her, heading to the other side of the kitchen island as Rachel begins plating her food.
"Thanks."
After a few moments, Gar speaks up, "So... Dick and Avery," He starts, glancing towards the door just incase anyone catches them talking about it.
Rachel shrugs, "I know. Don't say it," She waves her hand in front of her, not wanting to think about the relationship between her surrogate mother figure and the almost father figure the two had become.
Gar looks at her in shock, "You knew?"
The girl scoffs, "Please. They've been pining over each other this whole time. But they only started doing... that at the motel," Rachel shivers as she finishes her sentence, recalling the strange sounds she had heard, though she had a better mind than to go investigate, she could fill in the blanks herself. Even Kory knew at this point, Gar may have been the only one that didn't immediately catch on.
"Gross. Do you think it's like thinking about your parents?" Gar asks, even though Rachel's mom is now here, he did manage to catch on to how close the teen was to the adults and how protective they appeared to be of her.
"Yes, it's disgusting."
Before the two can discuss anything else, Rachel's mother Angela walks out towards them, "Good morning."
Rachel beams at the sight of the woman, "Hi, Mom," She says, the word almost sounding foreign on her tongue as she hugs the blonde.
"Hi, baby."
"I made breakfast."
Angela nods at her daughter, "I can see that."
Rachel timidly asks, "Are you hungry?"
The older woman sends a soft smile to the teen, heading towards the large window of the lounge area, "In a minute. Five years, you, uh, you couldn't forget how beautiful a sunrise can be. Come here," She softly asks Rachel, who immediately obliges, "May I put my arm around you?"
The teen gives a broad grin, "I'd like that. Very much."
Angela wraps her arm around her daughter, Rachel resting her head on the woman's shoulder and sighing in content. Gar, who watched the whole exchange, clears his throat, "- I, uh, can just-"
Angela cuts him off, "It's okay. You care about my daughter, young man... A lot. I have eyes, you know. Do you want a hug?" She extends her other arm to him.
"No, I'm good," He politely declines, not wanting to ruin the moment between the lost family.
Rachel turns her head with a pleading look, "Join us?"
