Let's start off with the basics: Black cats. This always annoys me, because it seems no one can think of a better black cat name than "Night" something, probably fur or pelt.
With this, you can choose any name you want, but if you're having trouble deciding, use the last letter of your last name to choose one.
Names I think are used way too often for black cats

C - Charred
D - Black (even though it's simple, its not used too often)
E - Shadow (again it's simple, but i guess it works)
F - Pupil (its a weird name but eh)
G - Burnt
H - Spider
I - Bat
J - Silhouette (I don't know what prefix would go well with this, have fun tho)
K - Ant
L - Fly
M - (right at this very moment my cat ate a spider) Ebony
N - Raven
O - Jackdaw
P - Starling
Q - Magpie (even though they are part white)
R - Cowbirds (even though they're not entirely black either)
S - (my cat is trying to eat all the spiders in the corner of my spidery basement XD) Beetle
T - Mold
U - Dark (its also a simple one, but it's not used that often)
V - Onyx
W - Smoke (think of more thick, black smoke than light, gray smoke poofs)
X - Coal
Y - Flea
Z - Tick
Remember, a cat doesn't have to be named after their pelt. You could name them a feeling/ emotion, or just some random color, number, or plant. These are names for black cats that ARE named after their pelts. I'm not gonna lie, that was a lot harder than i thought it would be. You can obviously do your own prefix, I just recommend you stay away from common things like Claw, Fur, or pelt. but in case you can't, here's a random list of prefixes that I think are good. Also, if you are making your own, remember that you can name it after your prefix, like Birdflight or Juniperberry. (cuz BIRDS can FLY and JUNIPER is a BERRY.) if you are having trouble choosing a prefix, use the first letter of your last name.
