Chaeyoung's POV

The first thing I heard in the morning was the loud screeching sound from my alarm clock. I groaned in annoyance and covered my ears with a pillow hoping that it would just go away and I could blissfully go back to my slumber. I ignored it a few more times until I accepted my defeat and opened my eyes. I looked at the time. It was still early. I sat on my bed as I regained my senses. I stood up and stretched my arms as far as I could. Then I took my phone and texted my girlfriend.

After walking back and forth while texting her, I got out of my room and walked like a zombie to the kitchen. I'm obviously in need of coffee right now. When I got there and finished making one, I chugged it like it was a matter of life and death. I didn't even care how hot it was or how it tasted. Time was running so fast. As soon as I was about to get something from the cupboard, I saw my dad from afar. He was carrying something. I hope it was food. I quickly ran to him.

"How is mom? Has she woken up already? Is she feeling any better?" I asked anxiously.

"Don't worry too much, son. You're starting to look old and wrinkly like me. Your mom's fine." He mocked at me and laughed. I just sighed.

"By the way dad, I'll be visiting mom after my work." I rushed back inside without waiting for his reply, got myself ready and waited for him outside to do the same. We went to work together like we always do. Walking with him to work every Saturday has become my way of hanging out with him. Since I started working, I had been busy every day. Studying all day, working up all night took most of my time. I've got many things to do and I had no time to spare.

At work, I unload materials, set up equipment, and assist my fellow workers. After hours of working outside in the heat of the sun, my shift has finally ended. Before heading out, I looked for my dad and told him I'm going. He works overtime.

I went home first to freshen up and change my clothes. Then I picked my mom a dozen of pink carnations from our little garden. My mom and I used to grow them before. It was her favorite flower after all. I even brought one of her favorite books. All of a sudden, my phone rang. I wonder who that is. It was Dahyun.

"Where are you? I'm with Tzuyu right now. Are you free tonight? We miss you like hell."

"I'm about to go visit my mom at the hospital."

"WHAAAAAT?! Your mom's in the hospital? What happened to her? Why didn't you tell us?"

"I'll just tell you when you get here."

"Okay. Stay there. We'll be there soon."

*beeps*

Dahyun and Tzuyu have been my friends since freshmen year. I used to have lunch all by myself at the cafeteria back then. One day, while I was eating my food, they came to me out of nowhere and introduced themselves. They smiled at me and asked if I wanted to have lunch with them. Since I'm all alone, I just agreed and we ate together. They were so close, I thought they were a couple and when I asked them, both of them burst into laughter and mocked the hell out of me. Ever since that day, we slowly became best friends.

I waited for them outside. After a moment or two, a sleek black car parked in front of our house. I saw the two of them come out of the car, shutting the door hardly after. They started running towards me.

"Bro, I've missed you so much!" I felt Dahyun say as he crashed into my shoulders and quickly pulled back.

"I haven't seen you in ages. I've missed you so much Chaengie!" Tzuyu then came to me and hugged me so tight. I can't breathe.
