"No" He yelled. "Sati, I advise you not to go to the sacrifice. Understand my words. I think it is erroneous to go there."
"Oh Deva, I have decided to go. It will be a great insult if a daughter does not attend a very important function of her father. I am sorry to oppose your decision."
Saying so, Devi Sati left the Kailash bringing disappointment to Siva and his devotees.
"Oh, Mahadeva, Shall I accompany the mother to protect her?" Asked Nandi. Siva nodded in grief. Nandi immediately left with some of the Siva's disciples to accompany Sati.
The disciples of Lord Siva arranged for Sati to be seated on the back of a bull and made their way as a royal parade.
"Stop, Devi." said the gatekeeper of the palace of Daksha when Sati reached the gates.
"You are not allowed to enter the palace. It is the order of Prajapati Daksha".
"O servant, listen. I am Dakshayani, daughter of Daksha. You dare to stop the wife of Siva?"
The gatekeeper bowed in fear. He let Sati and her disciples in. Sati entered the great hall.

Everyone was chanting Vedic hymns. Great Brahmans, Devas, and sages were assembled and took part in the sacrifice. As everyone saw Sati, they ignored her. They dared not to receive her due to the fear of Daksha.
Her 22 sisters and Prasuti seeing Sati hugged and received her. Daksha did not even turn to see Sati. He was busy chanting and offering in the sacrifice.
Sati observed that there was no oblation for her husband Siva. She and her husband were not invited.
"Father, your daughter Sati has arrived. Won't you welcome her?"

Daksha turned and said with a pale face, "Who are you? You are not at all invited to the sacrifice, lady. I don't have any daughter named Sati. She was already dead when she married an impure person named Siva."
