Despite the night of drinking and confessions, fragments of worry still lingered deep within thoughts, those same fears that were washed away with strong drinks began to rise once more with the dawn. Though there was still quite a bit of time remaining the forced reveal was going to cause a mess of issues. Despite telling Alastor what was to come thoughts feared that it had only made things worse. "He's cocky and already confident with his abilities" you thought as you forced yourself to get dressed "and he's not the type to back down, especially from a direct challenge. I hope to god he doesn't think that information will turn the tide in his favor but if he does then I need to think of something to break him loose. Even if it doesn't happen, I should still prepare for it, I can't take any chances now." The only issue remaining would be what to do. There were two likely scenarios, one where you were with him when the time came and one were you were not. The more problematic one being if you were with him, If you were with him when the time came you'd be caught in a battle between two titans, all chances of a sneaky move would be out the window. If you didn't find a way to stop Vox from jamming that mechanical rod in Alastors head then it would all be over. No doubt the TV would either take you along as a type of prisoner or flat out kill since you would be of no use to him. If he didn't and you were able to get back to the hotel there was no telling how long it would take for Charlie to get into gear to help stage a rescue. On the other hand, if you weren't with Alastor then the only natural indicator that the event happened would be the news covering his controlled massacres. By that time he would have already been a puppet for a day or so and who knows what Vox would have done in that time. Taking a deep breath thoughts went to work to dissect the problem. "Ok, think. What would happen if I was with him at the time? I wouldn't be able to fight, I would never be able to run very far, and even if I did escape and make it to Charlie she'd still waist a day trying to persuade him to let Al go before finally stepping up" you thought to yourself. "I can't fight an overlord, so my best bet would be to focus breaking either the net or the antenna. Maybe I can get my hands on an EMP and fry them, they were both electrical devices." Walking over towards the drawer you grabbed hold of the small dagger Vaggie had given you. Eyes looked back at themselves from the dark silver reflection. "If I'm not around then I'd need a way to know as soon as possible. I'd more then likely need to keep an eye on Angel, I'm positive his abductions was before Vox started sicking his puppet on rivals. As for what to do..." thoughts wandered off as you stuck the dagger in your pocket. "He's a showman and from what I've seen a rather perverted one. Maybe I could sneak into his office and try to convince him to let me have some private time with- no, he'd never let him out of his sights especially with a stranger. Maybe I can just get close enough and rip out the antenna in front of him, no, he'd be stunned for a moment and we'd be open to an attack. Maybe I can dance him towards that window and pull him through, the fall might buy my enough time and distance for him to snap out of the daze." It seemed like the best option but knowing the plan and executing it were two entirely different things. Eyes trailed over towards the clock, only a few more minutes and then work would once again come calling. A small scoff escaping as you moved about the room, cash that had once been hidden away now being taken out into the rooms dim light. You knew what was needed, but not where to get it. Asking Angel was out of the question, you didn't want to get him in trouble nor did you want to risk being spotted with him and having Val know of your existence. Thankfully there was one person that knew hell better than you, that wouldn't give you a hassle, that wouldn't question much, and that would keep quiet. Dollars and coins lined the inside of cloth and seams, hidden once again from the light but this time far closer than they had been before. Stepping outside of your room there was a newfound determination. With time ticking down there was less and less time for distractions, they had all the time they pleased. You however did not.

Same as before he was standing right outside the shop, leaning against the wall as he had his usual morning cigar. "Marty" there was no point in trying to carefully bring it up, he didn't care enough as is. He just breathed out another line of smoke, raising an eyebrow as you quickly walked over. He seemed almost surprised that you were there. "We need to talk" he just seemed to scoff but tossed his half smoked cigar to the side and followed you into the building. "I'm guessin this has ta do with the radio freak" he said. "Look kid, if you've been messin with the big boys I aint gonna help ya-" "No" you replied cutting him off. "The only reason he pulled me out yesterday was because there was an incident at the place I've been staying and they wanted to do a meeting with the staff and guests. That's all it was" you assured. "I may still be freshly fallen but I'm not stupid, I know better than to get myself caught up in a soul deal or any kind of debt" you finished. "Then what do you want to talk about and why should I care?" he asked. "I need your help, you know hell better than I do. What would it take for you to get me an audio bug and 2 small EMPs?" He just raised an eyebrow as he leaned against the counter "Why do ya need me to get em?" he questioned "I'm on a bit of a tight leash since I'm staying at the Princesses hotel, not to mention i'd be more then likely to get lost and well... I don't need to explain what would more than likely happen to me if that happened" you explained. He just let out a small huff "Ya really can't just run to the store? This isn't earth kid you can just buy that shit from any gun shop" he replied. Your look alone was more than enough to tell him that it was a no. He just gave a little huff "Fine, but I'm charging a pickup fee." You were more than fine with that. He threw out a number, being hell the price was wildly different that what you expected. Between the costs and the pick up fee he wanted to charge it wasn't as expensive as you thought it was going to be but it would still take a chunk out of the cash that was left. Reaching into your shirt and pocket you pulled out what was needed and what was asked for, he seemed to smirk as you passed over the cash. "Well alright then, I'll have it ready for ya by the morning" he said. "Say, whats a little thing like you going to do with stuff like that?" He questioned. You didn't expect him to ask that, hell, this was one of the longer interactions the two of you have had since you started working there. "Look kid, I can already see you're tangled up with the radio freak and the princess. I just wanna make sure you don't go pissin off the higher ups and I get bit in the ass for it" he replied. Well he was right there, a small sigh escaped you as you leaned back against the counter. "Look, all you need to know is that I don't plan on causing any major shit, truth be told I'm trying to prevent it and help a... friend. You don't need to worry about it. Even if I royally fucked up and pissed off an overlord why would they go after you? You're a boss, I'm an employee. You mean nothing to me and vice versa, we're just tools in the others eye." Though it felt cold to say that was the truth of it, he knew it as well as you did. "If anything does happen, you're not going to be affected. Your life will go on the same way it always has. You'll just have to replace an employee a little earlier than usual if all goes south" you said as you walked around the counter and towards your apron. "Fair enough" he replied. "But if anythin happens im draggin you to the void with me" though he tried to make it sound like a threat with the lower growl there was no fear from it. With everything that had and was about to happen, the promise of violence from a lower sinner meant nothing to you. All you did was give him the bare minimum, the acknowledgement that you understood his threat as he headed back into the kitchen so you could run the counter in peace.

The very next morning Marty brought the small bug and tiny EMPs that you had asked for, even being so kind as to bring along their respective instruction manuals so that way you weren't entirely in the dark. You already had a plan for sneaking the electronics into the hotel but you figured that taking it a step further wouldn't hurt. It wasn't hard to slip the devices into a doughnut bag and conceal them under the wrapped-up treats but you figured that it might also be nice to get some for the hotel. The idea both to sell your trick and give them some sort of thanks. Charlie was extremely delighted and thankful but you didn't see the others reactions as you quickly took your own little bag to your room. The devices quickly being hidden in order to keep them safe, even though you doubted that the girls bothered to check your room. With the cargo safely hidden away all that was left was the waiting game. Waiting until the Charlie came by to call you to the hotel dinner, waiting until another chaotic meal was over, and finally, waiting until his eyes were back on you. As you were walking back down the hall towards your room you felt it, the atmosphere itself shifting once again to match that cold aura. The warm air being over taken by a metallic chill. Annoying but once again drawing such familiarity that you couldn't help but crack a small smile as the lights seemed to dampen ever so slightly. "Good" you thought to yourself "It will make things easier if he comes to me." A small mix between a sigh and a chuckle managed to escape you as you finally made your way in front of your door. "I'm glad you followed me, I have something for you" though you were certain it was just him you still kept your voice low in case another happened to be nearby. Rather than pop up behind you the moment you opened the door you instead found him sitting on the edge of your bed, a wrapped up doughnut in hand. "I'm assuming it's not more of these sugary treats" he said as he tossed it over onto the desk. "No, that was just a distraction so I could sneak a few items into the hotel. I don't imagine Charlie would be too thrilled if she found out what I bought" you said as you closed the door and walked over towards where you hid the electronics. "Look, I'm going to be honest. I wouldn't put it past you to fight Vox despite the likely outcome. Either just to stress me out or because you think you'd have the advantage with the little information I could share" you explained. Taking out the two EMPs and the little bug you showed him what you had gotten and handed him one of the EMPS. "I'm begging you, when he taunts you do not fight him. Just take out his goons and run. I know you probably won't listen to me but please don't fight or at the very least use this against him and take out those devices of his" you said. "I got a bug and another EMP for myself to try and help but even I know that... that I'd..." a part of you didn't even want to think about what would happen if you screwed up but rational thoughts knew that the changes were high. "That you'd more than likely end up getting yourself killed in the process" Alastor said. He had said the words for you, A small nod was all that you gave. Darker thoughts came screeching to a halt as he took hold of your chin and tilted your head up till your eyes met back with his. "And yet, I have the feeling that you'd still go though with it, even if it meant certain death" he said. The movement and way he said it left thoughts screaming obscenities and screaming not to blush. Though the idea of him turning on the charm just to cause added torment would be the most delightful form of agony you feared that your already worn down sanity would snap apart at the seems. You pulled your head away, trying to deter those thoughts and trying to hide the soft blush that tried to bloom on flesh. "Yes, I would."
