One Last Raindrop

CHAPTER 6

"So that's the squid ball?" I asked Migo while he was dictating the names of the food in front of me. We were here in front of a cart in the plaza near our school.

"Kwek-kwek 'yan." Migo tsked and I sighed. We have been here for hour and I wanted to know the foods' names first before eating it at pareho na kaming gutom.

"If that's the kwek-kwek so this one is the squid ball?"

"Dior, kwek-kwek din 'yan, hindi lang luto." He laughed and it made me pout because of too much frustration I am feeling right now. My eyes widened a little after he touched my hand and he used it to point at the white round thing. "Iyan naman yung squid ball."

Mukhang napansin niyang natahimik ako at hindi umimik matapos niyang hawakan ang kamay ko.

"Pasensya ka na magaspang ang kamay ko." Too much house works kaya magaspang ang kamay niya but it doesn't make him less attractive. Knowing that he knows house chores only makes him more attractive and not less. Besides, guys nowadays who are more knowledgeable on doing chores are rare.

"It's okay, let's eat this kikiam."

"Dior, tokwa 'yan."

"Whatever it is, gutom na talaga ako." He let out his chuckle and he gave me two cups filled with different types of street foods. He sat on the floor of the sidewalk along with the people sitting on it too.

"Teka para makaupo ka." Napatingin ako sa kaniya nang bigla niyang hubarin ang polo niya at natira na lamang ay ang white shirt niya. He was about to place it on the sidewalk nang unahan ko na siya at maupo na ako. "Madumi—"

"Let's eat." He slowly nodded while his brows furrowed as I started eating the orange thing, squid ball? "Ang sarap naman nitong squid ball, Migo!"

"Dior, kwek-kwek."

"Whatever it is."

We are both silent now. He is busy driving the car while I could not care less anymore. I feel so full after eating those foods. Hindi ko pa rin kabisado ang pangalan ng mga pagkain ngunit nasarapan naman ako.

"Migo, when can we eat those again?" I asked, looking so excited.

"Hmm, anytime you want. You can also try ihaw-ihaw."

"Sure, just don't tell Mom about this. She will be furious." He slowly nodded and I turned on my phone to chat my friends. I told them that I ate street foods.

'Kami rin nakakain na ng street foods pero hindi namin pinagkalat' Pambabara sa akin ni Stacey so I sent her a middle finger emoji in our groupchat.

'Hoy malandi ka. May nakakita raw sa inyo sa plaza ni Migo. Magdidiligan kayo, noh? Makyondi kang tunay, Dior' Mina replied, making me roll my eyes.

Nang huminto ang kotse ay agad akong bumaba. Nang makapasok ako sa bahay ay napakunot ang aking noo nang makita si Saint na nakaupo sa sofa at akala mong pag-aari niya ang mansyon.

"Dior." He is my cousin, and he immediately gave me a warm hug. "How's your acads?"

He is my one and only cousin from my dad's side and he is already twenty-two years old. He's still studying medicine. Gusto niya rin maging doctor katulad ko.Sa totoo lamang ay hindi ko pala talaga alam kung 'yon ba talaga ang kaniyang gusto.

"Good state, I guess?" I shrugged and sat on the sofa, beside him.

He was about to talk again when my phone started to ring. I immediately took it and answered. Mina is the caller and I do not really know what this girl needs right now.

"Mina, what do you need?" I spoke with my irritated tone just to let her feel how much she disturbed me.

She let out a sound as if she is hurt because of my question. "Grabe ka naman! Naiwan ko yung pouch ko sa van, 'di ba? Malapit na akong pumasok sa bahay mo in three, two, and one!"
