stormy

There are days
Where I am fine.
When you're smile is just another smile,
And your name is just another name.
There are days
Where I can feel happy for you.
Where my anger and confusion has suddenly disappeared,
And scars have faded as if they were never there.
But then there are days
When I miss you.
When I need you so badly I can't seem to breathe.
There are days that anxiety burns my chest like fire,
And tears fight to gush out of my eyes.
There are days when the sunny days of summer turn to rain,
Making shards of ice and hail pound down on windows like daggers.
Where warm sunshine is but a memory,
And even the air quivers in fear of the rampant wind.
There are days that begin to mark weeks.
Days that begin to mark months.
Days where I become tired of dreaming of you.
Yet there is always a sunny day waiting for me,
A silence in the midst of great anguish.
But, the silence only lasts a moment.
And there is always a hurricane just beyond the horizon.
