• for some reason it always needs to be said how his addiction and his skinnyness is a problem. Like they always need to wedge it the classic "don't do drugs" PSA.
• his illigetamate children always need to be mentioned at least once

Murdoc:
I dont read too much Murdoc fics but...
• Either a complete ass to reader or is pretty chill
• "The abuse is just for show"
• Super flirtatious
• sexually harasses everyone for no apparent reason
• always drunk
• constantly making references to Satan.

• "Murcock"
• "Pickle man"
• "Evil pickle"
• "the bassist"
Russel:
Idk I feel like people use a lot of stereotypes when writing Russel. Eg
• calling reader "baby girl" when they don't even know him
• "Cracker ass, [anything]-ass"
• pretty much only used as the token black character and/or the only reasonable one
• He's like the most educated out of all the band but that is never mentioned
• Super nice to reader for no reason
• Hates Murdoc
Noodle:
• Randomly speaks Japanese all the time (like even after she knows English)
• Super nice to reader and is instant bffs with them
• Super smart
• Never misbehaves or if she does its "cute"
• basically a mary sue
• also bffs with 2D
Overused plotlines:
• Highschool AU
• You join the band (and you're always the singer)
• You move in with the band as soon as you make eye contact with 2D
• Murdoc captures you and/or puts you on Plastic Beach
• Murdoc enslaves you or 2D somehow
• basically Murdoc's assholery somehow pushes you and 2D together • strip club???
