John and Sylvia walked back into my room holding hands.

Pete saw this and excused himself.

"I needa smoke," he snapped as he left.
Sylvia lowered her head.

"Don't worry about him, dear. He'll get over himself." John reassured her.

Keith walked back in and lied near me on my hospital bed.

"How are you feeling dear?" he asked as he took my hand.

"Just peachy," I laughed.

Keith smiled. "Hey Sylvia, what time is it?"

Sylvia glanced down at her watch. "Umm around 4 p.m"

"Alright so Cyn, they said they will discharge you at 6, but you are going to need a lot of bed rest," Keith said.

"Oh, wonderful!"

"..... I was wondering," Keith continued. "If you would come to stay back at my place...?"

I looked at Sylvia, waiting for approval.

She smiled, "If you want Cyn, you can stay with him."

I laughed, "Well Keith do you think you can take good care of me?"

He nodded. "Now and forever love."

I smiled and hugged him.

"Keith," Johns stern tone echoed. "You better treat her right, or you'll be hearing from me as well."

Keith nodded again in agreement.

Sylvia glanced back over to John and put her arms around him.

"I trust him, John," she smiled.

"I trust him too!" Keith added.

John laughed and hugged Sylvia.

"Alright well, I think I'm gonna head out, Sylvia you staying?"

"Until she discharges, yes."

"Alright love," he kissed her goodbye and headed for the door.

"Thank you, John!" I called.

"Of course dear," he called back as he left.

Keith, Sylvia and I chatted until the nurse entered my room.

"Alright, it looks like we are ready to release you, Miss Walker." She said.

"Thank you, Nurse Tami."

"Would you like a wheelchair to leave in?"

"No, I can manage."

She chuckled. "Alright Ma'am, good luck!"
When she left, Keith helped me walk out to Sylvia's car.

He set me inside and hopped in the passenger's seat.

Sylvia drove us to Keith's house.

Keith picked me up and carried me to his front door.

"Take care!" Sylvia yelled as she drove off.

When we got inside, Keith laid me on his bed.
I smiled. "Thank you, Keith."

He covered me up in his covers and lied beside me.

"How much pain you in, love?"

"Oh, uh, It still hurts when I move but I should be fine when all these bruises heal."

He scooted closer to me and held me.

"I'm so sorry you had to go through that Cyn," he whispered.

"I might be dead if it weren't for you, love."

"I would never let that happen. I-I just can't imagine a life without you..." His voice broke.

"I love you, Keith," A tear fell down my face. I couldn't stand to see Keith upset.

"I love you too," He cried as he pulled me in closer.

"You'll never leave me right Cyn?" He sniffled.

"I would never dream of it, love."

He smiled and stroked my hair. "Good."

We lied there until we both fell asleep, holding each other closely.
