look at how he never leaves her side

day and night means no difference to him,

yet she is arrogant and full of her pride

answers not to the prayers of his whim.

Still the girl from the shadows weeps in the corner

she the Echo to her soul searching song,

but the wretched boy does not e'en glance upon her

caught in the  enchantress' charms, he's a pawn.

misfortune led him to the banks of his curse

when the lady of the lake stole his love,

the boy was once the very image of Olympus

Hyperion's curls flecked on his brow.

but now bending over the surface weaker he grows

his body yearning for the water's grasp,

falling into her arms, the boy is no more

succumbing finally to her bewitched clasp.

'tell me truly, was he as stately as they say?'

i asked of the queen of the waters,

'for he so closely to you did stay'

and the Daffodils nodded sadly around her.

a moment later she replied to my sighs

'i did not notice what his face did adorn,

for reflected within the depths of his eyes

i fell in love with the form of my own'.
