As you sit on the carpet in your nursery, you finish building your tower with the colorful learning blocks your caregiver got you. You look at your work and are very proud of yourself. So proud, you want to show your caregiver! You crawl out of your room and into the living room to see your caregiver on the couch scrolling through their phone. "Mommy/Daddy, come look at the tower I made!" you say with a smile on your face. Your caregiver instantly goes into Mommy/Daddy space and replies, "I would love to see your amazing tower, little one!" and stands up. "Follow me!" you say enthusiastically as you crawl to you room. Your caregiver follows. As you both enter, you crawl up to your tower and point at it, making sure your caregiver knows that that is the tower you are talking about. "Do you like it, Mommy/Daddy?" you ask to which your caregiver replies, "Like it? I love it!" and picks you up. "How did I get so lucky to have such a creative, talented baby like you?" they reply as they boop your nose. You simply giggle and blush as you are too flustered to say anything. "Not to mention adorable too." They add. You giggle and blush some more as you hide your face into your caregivers chest. Your caregiver kisses your forehead and rocks side to side as they look at the time. "Oh, I think it's someones bedtime." You lift your head from your caregivers chest and reply, "Who's bedtime?" "Well, it's not my bedtime and it's not your stuffies bed time. Hmm, I wonder who it could be?" They say as they look at you. "I don't know, Mama/Dada! Who's?" You say giggling. "I think it's a certain baby's bedtime." "Me?" "Yes you, my little angle." They say chuckling. "B-but.. I'm not sleepy!" You say rubbing your eyes. "Are you sure? You look pretty sleepy to me." "Nope! I'm not-" Your sentence gets cut off by a yawn escaping your mouth. "sleepy!" Your caregiver laughs as they walk over to your crib and place you down gently inside. "B-but-" "Shh, little one. I think your teddy bear is trying to tell me something, but it has to be very quiet for me to hear." You are intrigued about what your teddy has to say to your caregiver. Your caregiver puts your teddy up to their ear and listens, nodding their head once and a while to let teddy know they are listening. Then they pull the bear away from their ear and look down at you. "Teddy told me that even though it isn't their bedtime yet, that they will sleep with one little who will go to sleep, right now." You gasp as you want Teddy to choose you. You lay down in your crib getting all comfy in your blankets and pillows. "What's that, Teddy?" They hold Teddy up to their ear again. "You've chosen a little to sleep with tonight? Who is it?" After a couple seconds, they gasp and look at you with a smile. "Okay. I will make sure to let them know. Thank you, Teddy." They pull the bear away from their ear once more. "Teddy says that he has chosen to sleep with you tonight as long as you try your hardest to go ni nights on time from now on with no fussing. Do you think you can do that, pumpkin?" You nod with excitment. "Okay, here you go." They give you the bear and you hug it super duper tight. They then give you your paci and tuck you in with a kiss on your forehead. "Goodnight, Mommy/Daddy." You say with a yawn. "Goodnight, little one." They say as they plug in your night light and walk to the door. "May only the sweetest of dreams fill your tiny, little head tonight." They say with a smile. They then turn off the light and close the door just enough so it's only cracked open. You then rub your eyes and yawn once more, hug your teddy tight and close, and drift off to sleep.
