I go back to my clothes and shift back. I dress quickly and run back home. It's been two hours since I was gone and is almost 7AM when I get back. Abigail is up and making breakfast.

"Hey, where have you been?" She asks.

"Just felt like going for a run." I shrug.

"I will never understand how people like you can have so much energy in the morning," she rolls her eyes at me. "Get cleaned up. Breakfast is ready," she orders.

I look at the stack of waffles she has prepared for us. I'm not very good at cooking so Abigail usually does most of that. That ends up with me having to clean up which I am fine with because I find cleaning very satisfying.

"I would starve without you."

I rush off to take a quick shower. Once all the dirt and swear is washed off, I head back to eat. As if on command, my stomach grumbles at the sight of the mouthwatering food.

We don't really talk much during breakfast as I am busy devouring every piece of the waffles Abigail made. As soon as I'm done, I go to my room to get ready or else I'm gonna be late.

After brushing my teeth, I dry my hair and change into an ivory turtleneck cropped sweater, blue skinny jeans, and brown boots. I put on some moisturiser, nude lipstick and mascara, keeping the makeup to a minimum. The blue in my eyes looks brighter than usual and even my skin looks fresh. I guess I have the run to thank for that. I let my blonde hair fall loose along my back and head off.

Since the school year is almost over, we usually spend most of our time at the hospital but we do have a few classes every other day. Today is our second to last day of classes and our exams start in two weeks. I get to the classroom and see my group of friends waving at me from the back.

Riley is almost always the first one to get here and she saves us all seats. She has dark hair and pale skin. Her dark eyes are almost always sunken from studying all the time and she always has a mug of black coffee in her hands. Riley is, hands down, the smartest of our group, always topping all the classes.

Melissa is probably my closest friend in the group. We have more classes together than the others and she's usually the one I spend most of my time with.

Anna is late, as usual, and arrives just seconds before the professor. As soon as she enters the classroom, Riley, Mel, and I wave frantically so she can see where we're sitting. The professor eyes us and then gets to her desk to take out her laptop. Soon the class starts and we're all trying to understand what's happening or in Anna's case, trying to keep her eyes open.

After the first class is over, Riley and Anna run to their next class while Mel and I go to the lab.

"Oh my God, did you hear about the fight between Lucas Kingston and Daxton Price?" Mel exclaims as we're walking towards the lab.

Lucas Kingston is in our class. He is one of those sexy, brooding guys, with sharp, dreamy features, and dark hair. He is easily six feet tall and it looks like he spends more time in the gym than in the library, and yet he is a great student. You can tell he has a lot of knowledge whenever he speaks, as rare as that may be. He hardly ever talks to anyone, mostly keeping to himself.

Unlike everyone else, I knew it's because he is a werewolf. The only other one in our class. I always wonder if he knows about me or not. Werewolves usually have a scent that is distinct from humans. Either, he can't tell if I am one or not, or he knows and chooses to ignore it. I suppose, I can't complain considering I never talked to him either. Maybe he's like me and prefers the human world instead of the werewolf one.

Daxton Price is also a werewolf and he and his friends sometimes hang out in the local pub and cause trouble for people. From what I have figured out, Daxton doesn't belong to Lucas's pack. He also doesn't go to our college so I have never quite understood why he always hangs out here. Daxton and his werewolf friends come to our area a lot. Maybe they had a problem with Lucas's pack and were here to keep an eye on them or maybe they were allies and visited often.

Anyway, I'm not shocked to find out that Daxton was in yet another fight but I didn't think Lucas was the type to get involved.

"What happened?" I ask Mel, curiosity getting the best of me.

"I don't know exactly how it started but Lucas was sitting in the pub with a couple of people and Daxton just came out of nowhere and started yelling at him and cursing,"

"Yelling what?" I cut Mel off.

"I don't really know but next thing you know, Lucas just got up and punched him. I mean, of course he did. Look at him. Finally putting all that muscle to good use."

"Mel, you're getting off track, get back to the story" I say as I roll my eyes.

"Sorry, he's so hot it's distracting," she continues.

"Anyway, after he punched him, Daxton got mad and we all know he's a psycho. He literally picked up a table and threw it at him. And then both of their friends joined the fight and it was a whole thing. Someone called the police but they all ran out before they could arrive. It's probably why Lucas wasn't in class this morning. Poor guy must be injured." Mel finally takes a breath after her rant.

"Yeah maybe. Who told you this story anyway?" I ask.

"Dude, somebody filmed the whole thing. I saw it on Instagram," she tells me while pulling her phone out to show it to me.

We reach the lab and find our seats. Mel finds the video and plays it. I take the phone in my hands and watch it carefully. You can't really make out what Daxton is saying to Lucas but it's obvious it's getting to him. His nose is flared and his hands are curled up into fists, no doubt, trying to keep his wolf in control. Of course, a couple of seconds later, he punches him and everything happens the way Mel said.

"Oh My God, April look!" I hear Mel say in shock beside me. I look up to see what she is talking about and follow her eyes until they land on Lucas.

"I can't believe he's here. He doesn't look injured though," she says while narrowing her eyes.

"Wow, he's so strong," she says in bewilderment, talking more to herself than me.

The professor walks in at that moment and we all get to work.
