My head was pounding as I came back to reality. I sat up slowly. My head was screaming at me. Once i had sat up straight I looked around. It was now daylight and there was glass smashed around me. And blood. "Oh no." I mutter as I felt the back of my head. My hair was wet and sticky. I bring my hand round and look at it. Yup. Blood. I groan and sit back against the wall. I need to get to Yogtowers. Now. "Alexia! Oh my god!" I looked to my left to see Martyn. Running towards me. "Oh shit." I mumble. He ran up to me. "Are you okay?" He asked. I shake my head. "The riddle." I mumble. "What?" He was confused. I get up. "The riddle! One of my friends are in danger!" I tell him. He shakes hus head. "What happened last night?" I roll my eyes. "I left your flat and got attacked by an old friend. Nikki to be exact." I tell him. His eyes widen. "You've been here all night?!" I nod. "Yes but that doesn't matter! We've got to get to Yogtowers now!" I begin to walk and I hear him gasp. "Alexia! You heads bleeding." He informed me. Like I didn't know. "Fucks given. Zero!" I tell him as I continue to walk. I was getting to Yogtowers, one way or another.

I was worried sick. Had Alexia ran off again? I was pacing in the common room. "She's ran off again! Why?" I ask all who sat in there. They all murmur. They don't know. "Alexia! Seriously!" Martyn's voice came from the hall. I ran to the door and flung it open. And there stood Alexia. She held a blood covered tea towel with an ice pack inside. "Alexia! What the Fuck!?" I ask. She rolled her eyes. "Nikki, drinking, glass bottle to the head, riddles and someone's missing!" Is what she said. She pushed past me followed by a very confused Martyn. We shared confused glances. Alexia walled into the middle of the room. "We need to do a head count! Now! I need to make sure that everyone is here!" She said. Something was bothering her. "Why do you need a head count?" I ask. She froze.
Alexia P.O.VHow was I going to explain this!? "I...well...um" I stammer. I look around and realised the one fave I hadn't seen for almost a week now. My breathing quickens as it hit me. Ross looked at me concerned. "Lexi? Are you okay?" He asked. I don't respond. I begin to walk around. My hands on my face. I run my fingers through my hair. "Nikki you fucking bastard." I mutter. I turn to Ross. "When did you last hear from Turps?" I ask. He looks at me before saying. "Nearly a week ago. Why?" I look at all the Yogs. "Is it the same for all of you? Almost a week?" They all nod. My eyes widen. "You FUCK!!" I yell. Everyone looks at me confused. I spot the small white bored that had corgis drawn all over it. I wall over and rub it off. Writing down the riddle. Saying each word as I right it.
Your friend awaits you deep down in the dark.
Where he can on hear the singing of the family of skylarks.
This place is where faint memories sing.
Where we once played on the old rope swing.I must have looked mad. "Alexia. What's going on?" Lewis asked me. I point to the first line. "Nikki. He's taken Mark." I say. He looks at me like I'm nuts. I sigh. "Last night Nikki attacked me on the street. He told me he wanted a deal. Me for my friend. He told me that one of my friends were missing but didn't say who. When I asked him where my friend was he gave me this riddle. Then he knocked me unconscious. Hence the blood covered towel." I say as I hold up the blood soaked scrap to the back of my head. I look up at the riddle. "We need to figure this out or we won't find Mark. And there's one person who I know is amazing at riddles." I say. "And who's that?" Simon asked. "Leigh. The girl from school. We've been doing things like poems in English and she's found all the little hidden secrets." I pull out my phone and dial her number. "I know for a fact she can help."
**an hour later**
Me, Leigh, Cat and Hollie sat in the common room trying to figure out the riddle. Everyone had gone back to doing what they were doing and left us to figure it out. It was killing me. "I don't understand! Singing memories? Rope swing? Urg!" I complain. Leigh looked at the riddle. "Skylarks? Did you know any Skylarks?" She asked me. I look at her. "Well at my old house we had a huge tree where each year a family if Skylarks would breed." I tell her. She scribbled down a note of that on some paper. I thought for a moment. 'I used to try and sing with them when I was younger. And I tied rope to a branch to climb up to them. Then my dad....' I jump. "Leigh you fucking genius!" I cry. She stops putting down notes. "What did I do?" She asked. I jump onto the table. Getting Hollie and Cat's attention. "The skylarks! I used to try sing with them! Singing memories! I only tried it once or twice so it's a faint memory." I explain. She smiles. "We figured some of it out!" She cheered. Cat jumped. "Now we need to figure the rest out!" She told me. I smile. "Already ahead of you. I tied a rope to one the trees branches so I could climb it and go see when the eggs hatch but my dad told me off and turned it into a rope swing for me! Me, Rachel and Nikki used to play there all the time." I say. Cat beams. "Where you once played by the old rope swing!" She recited. I nod. "But the only thing close to the rope swing that was deep and dark was...The...OH MY GOD!!!" I scream. This causes Ross and more of the Yogs to run in. "Alexia! Screaming? Why?" He said. I run up to him. "I know where Mark is!" I tell him. He looks confused. "Alexia. He probably just forgot to call in sick. He's not been kidnapped." He says. I twitch. "You don't believe me." I said. I can't believe it. He doesn't believe me. He sighs. "Lexi-!"
"Don't lexi me!" I cut him off. "We have just spent an hour figuring out this riddle and we've done it! I know where he is!" I yell pointing and Leigh. "Have you now? Show me then." He said. I huff and drag him to the whiteboard. By now nearly all the Yogs have come back. I point at the riddle. "Listen and listen good." I tell him. He nods. "Turps is in some place deep and dark. Where he can only hear skylarks singing. Then only place where there are skylarks that I know of is in the huge tree where my old house was." He seems to understand. "And I used to sing there. Hence the singing memories! And there was a rope swing." I continued. "So where's Turps?" He asked. Truing to catch me out. "The only deep dark place that's near that tree is dad's wine cellar. It wouldn't have been touched by the fire since its nearly 20 meters away." I say. Leigh stepped forward. "That means your friend Nikki took Mark to your old house?" I nod. "That's because he knows that if I go there it will cause me pain. It's holds bad memories." I tell her. She nods. "So what do we do?" She asked. I take a deep breath. "We go kick his sorry little ass!"
