War cries were the only thing that could be heard in the surrounding. The pungent smell of iron lingered in the air from the blood spilt all over the cemented floor. Thousands of bodies laid lifeless on the floor, with their swords still in their hands, dying for their kingdom. Swords clashed against each other and shields banged as they blocked a near strike to the heart. The only ones alive were nothing but a small number compared to the bloodthirsty armies that had marched in a while ago.

The queen held her child in her hands, her mother's instinct ready to protect her at any cost. The child's mouth hang wide agape as she saw the unmoving bodies lying all over. Seeing the crystal clear terror on her face, the queen shielded her daughter's eyes from the disgusting scene ahead, but what caught her attention was the battle that was still ongoing at the middle of the courtyard.

"Erick...It is your time...Can't you notice that?" A blonde haired man clad in an armor made entirely of gold said while pressing his sword on the other King's throat.

"Even if it might be, there will always be someone to right the wrongs you have committed. Aren't you aware of the long arm of the law?" His breath was croaked as he focused all of his energy on pushing back. With a shove, the other king stumbled backwards but was quick to come back to his fighting stance.

"At the time Erick, I'll be the Supreme Grid Ruler, who will dare go against me?" A cackle echoed the place, without mistaking the arrogance contained in it. He thrust his sword forward and was only inches away from piercing through his heart. Erick could win against him as he was trained swordsmanship ever since a young age, but at the time, he seemed to forget that once you were in a fight for your life, one should never ever get distracted.

Turning around, he saw his beloved wife and his precious daughter not too far away. His heart ached for his family. Never did he want to put them in this position, he could do anything to take it all away, but not everything goes our way.

"Run!" He shouted at the top of his voice and his enemy turned his head to look at who he was talking about. The queen wished that she could just unleash her wrath, but her husband shook his head, pleading with her to not do so. Because if she did, it would result to her sure death.

"Run and don't look back!" In a flurry of torn skirts and broken heels, the queen ran with all her might, taking her husband's word to not look back.

Taking this as his chance, the enemy thrust the sword through the King's intestines, slicing through them. Blood spewed all over but the enemy had not a hint of disgust or fear, rather, he was proud of himself.

"Papa! Papa no! Mama, what's wrong with Papa?!" Tears ran down the Queen's cheeks once the realisation of what was soon to happen had already occurred, so much so her daughter who saw the things with her very own eyes?

"Sweety, what your Papa would have wanted right now was his darling little daughter to get to safety, okay?" The poor girl sniffed, tears cascading like waterfalls, never seeming to come to an end.

The enemy dropped his sword down and kicked the king to flip him over on his back. He watched on as the King's lazy eyes watched with pain etched on his face his wife's running figure. Bending down to the ground, he held his face and an evil smirk plastered his lips.

"Your family Erick? They're good as dead. Just watch as my men escort them to Hell's gate." When he snapped his fingers, two knights chased after the Royal Family.

"Didn't I tell you your time was up?" That was the last thing he heard before his eyes rolled to the back of his head.

The queen slid down a valley hidden away from the rest of humanity to take a breather. She had been running for a long time but she never thought of looking at her daughter. Bringing her to the front, she touched her forehead filled with beads of perspiration and wiped them off. No mother would wish for her child to through what hers had been through.
