Arya hugged Abhedya. It was emotional. His favourite 'go-to person' his 'chachu' gifted him his car? How? He was not alive.
Rudra saw a tear roll down Abhedya's eyes. He hugged him too. "Swadesh, that rascal, had everything planned. He wrote in his last wishes list... 'Whichever car my dearest son, Abhey chooses as his dream car... should be gifted to him, under my name, on his 21st'. Huh! He knew it all. Feel lucky Abhey. Feel as if you are sitting in his lap like the times when you were young. Treasure it."Rudra's words made Abhedya even more emotional. He hugged his father even tighter and shed more tears. He did not deserve the car. He was the biggest idiot alive on the planet earth. Swarnima was right. He assumed things, he was impulsive and he was highly judgmental. Swarnima's friendship could also not change his nature. This time his act did not deserve forgiveness. The car was gifted to him 'as an act of love'? No! It was way beyond love. His chachu, Swarnima's father loved him immensely. He considered Abhedya in his last wishes list. Wow! What did he even do to receive such love?
Swarnima chose her mother's birthday to give him all the presents she collected for him, all those years because that would make her mother happy. Really? Abhey, was are the luckiest 'idiot' on planet Earth, indeed.Rudra wiped Abhedya's tears and brought him out of his guilt-ridden thoughts.
They came inside and Randeep kissed Abhedya's forehead. Everyone was surprised. Randeep was an inexpressive man.
"Abhey, you are special. Remember that. I know you might have wanted to earn your dream car. But, Swadesh had that trust in you that you will earn it and we all can see and believe that you can. He believed that his Abhey was a rare diamond just like his name. He could sparkle life's around him. We all can see the way you are taking care of Swarnima. Swadesh and Rima will be happy and bless you all the more. We have never seen our little Nim smile and laugh like that before. You are indeed that 'best friend' everyone wants in their life.
Today, I have to agree the faith Swadesh had in you was true all along. Just enjoy and feel precious."Abhedya managed to put a smile on his face for the sake of his family. He wanted to shout to them that he was not worth the appreciation. But, that will break their faith in him. So, he decided henceforth he will never act spontaneously and analyse the situation. Making a promise to himself Abhedya looked at Swarnima who had no expression of anger or anguish.
'Was the girl even real? It's not me who is rare, it's her. She is one and only one piece in the whole wide world. I am never going to let her go. I love her. I love her so, so much!!!'
'What!! Did you just say? LOVE? Oh boy! Seriously? I knew you would realise it sooner or later. Abhey finally, I can be proud of you.' Abhedya' s heart was jumping in the realisation of love.
'But, just be careful Abhey. Don't act as an impulse now. Take your time. You cannot break her heart at any cost. Just be more than a hundred per cent sure.' His heart and mind decided to go with the flow. The dinner was filled with emotional talks, laughter and banter. "Abhey, what are your plans for your birthday?" Nandini asked him.
"Mom, my college gang and others want a party, but, I want to be with all of you on that day. We can either have a common party or I can give them a party the next day." Abhedya replied.
"That is not my brother! It's his doppelgänger, mom, I am alerting you. Abhey wants to be with us and not his friends? Wow!! That is indeed RARE, phuphu you were right." Nivi commented.
"Nivi, please don't interfere when elders are talking. We give you freedom but you should know your boundaries. Abhey, you can party with your friends by the pool till evening.
You see, the council, the current protector and our family, will be here for deciding the further course of action. It's time the throne to be claimed." Rudra said with determination.
"Alright, dad. Whatever you say." Abhedya agreed without any questions. It will probably be the last day of his freedom. Once, he takes on his duty as the protector to the state, he will not be able to party or hang out or be carefree like he was now. Just two days left. Just one, now.
The elders left and the younger lot also called it a night. Abhedya did not have the guts to go and speak to Swarnima. He was busy with her thoughts, his realisation and his course of action.
She was a Gem. Not only her body was beautiful but her soul was pure. She was like magic which everyone loves to see but cannot guess how it happened. Abhedya also didn't know what was going on inside her. She was a mystery he wanted to unfold. She was like the sacred fire which purified the surroundings. She was a star. Yes! She was burned time and again by him and his words but still, she shined, for him. Abhedya wanted the star called SWARNIMA in his universe for now, forever and beyond. He was truly, madly and deeply in love with his childhood sweetheart, again.
The realisation didn't let him sleep. He loved her, but could they be together? She was the princess, he was her protector. Royals choose royals. The thought that died in him surfaced again and scared him to the core. The world will be burnt down to ashes if Swarnima was not his. He will make every situation turn in his favour. He will not let his sweetheart be with anyone else. He will break every law and the boundaries that try to separate him and her. She was meant to be his since the day she was born.
Morning came without knocking at Abhedya's door. His thoughts didn't let him sleep the entire night. He was the first to come out of the room that day. All fresh and dressed.
If the way to a man's heart is via his stomach, a way to a woman's heart is through? Huh!! He googled and landed himself in confusion. Why did he even try googling? Google could not answer his girl's heart's desire. Wow! 'His girl' sounded just perfect.
Swarnima entered the house in a loose hoodie and joggers. 'Fuck man! She is a temptress. How could she look so fucking hot in that ill-fitted hoodie which is making her look irresistible. Just get inside that hoodie, already.' Abhedya's heart was having his own time gawking at the sexy thing in front of him.Abhedya grabbed a yellow rose that lay in the vase and ran to Swarnima. He forwarded it to her and she smiled. 'No! Not now Abhey! Don't faint at that killer smile.' His brain tried to help him out.
"Umm... you know the drill, I know the drill. I will apologise you will forgive. I won't give the reason, you won't justify them, this time. My reaction yesterday was unjustifiable. I am sorry. I won't make any promises today, but show you via actions that I am trying to change..." Abhedya confessed.
"It's become a routine, now. So, let's accept the fact that come what may, I can never be annoyed with you and you cannot stop judging me. You, really think I am a bad, hypocritical person. Even I am trying to change your thoughts about me. I will also show you via actions." Swarnima replied in his words.
Abhedya took a deep breath and said, "You know you are perfect. It's me who needs to change and.."
"No one is perfect. Everyone has flaws and I have too many. No! I am not criticising myself to hear my appreciation. I just know myself pretty well. You will also know, soon. Just don't hate me." Swarnima didn't know what she was saying. Her eyes had an unreadable expression. She was feeling guilty? Why? She had never done or could do anything wrong. Why would he hate her? He just realised his undying love for her.
Abhedya was about to reply when Maan came out and called them for breakfast. Breakfast was a bit quiet, rather Maan and Swarnima were quiet. Arya and Abhedya's jokes also received just plain smiles. The change was noticed and the reason was understood.
