One of the very best and worst things about their maknae was his unpredictability. Sure, it could cause the occasional headache when they realized just how much of a wild card Jungkook truly was. When one of them would have to inevitably chase after him in some lame attempt to get him to listen and behave.
But there were also moments where it caused endless joy. Where Jungkook would do or say something that would cut the tension and have them all in stitches, laughter thick and side splitting. It would almost always trigger a certain response from Seokjin himself, and they would proceed to spend the next twenty minutes acting as though they were truly five year old's.
Their bond was strange and deep and complex, and no one else seemed capable of understanding it. At least not fully. No one else seemed to share anything that came close, despite how all of their friendships were interwoven. No, his and Jungkook's was special. Unique. Different.
So it should only make sense that it would change in ways the other's hadn't. That as Jungkook had grown their relationship had too. Allowing himself to be taken to bed by the maknae was something he had never expected from himself. But it had happened and that was all there was to it. He didn't regret it, really, despite how much he wished he could forget his own irresponsible actions.
He hadn't raised Jungkook up from a fifteen year old frightened little boy to a twenty two year old man filled with confidence and sex appeal to be his lover. No, it had always been his intention for him to be his best friend.
It should have been a one time deal. Probably would have been if the maknae was so good. It wasn't that he'd had a lot of experience. Actually, that was a lie. Once he and Jimin had decided to sit and compare and as it turned out, the nickname Kim Thot-Jin was apparently far more apt than he ever expected.
But Jungkook somehow came out on top. There was no one else who could do the things he could. Who could make him feel the things he could. And as much as he tried to deny it, he just kept letting it happen.
And really, he supposed he couldn't actually blame Jungkook for the mistake he had made. He had been a little baby gay since the moment he arrived in Seoul. He doubted anyone had ever shown him what a pregnancy test actually looked like. But he was certain he should know what a thermometer looked like, especially when it was displaying a number of degrees instead of a positive or negative sign.
What he couldn't believe was just how excited the younger had been at the prospect. How excited everyone had been. Only for him and Namjoon to be forced to sit them all down and explain how it all worked, like they were the parents and he was technically sleeping with one of the children.
Which, okay, that was a weird as fuck way to think about it and he really had to stop before he could never even look at Jungkook again.
But he was sick, not pregnant. And soon everyone just wrote it off as a silly little misunderstanding and they all went back to giving their baby Kookie a hard time.
