"Just give up Scott," I yelled down at him, "just admit you were on and we can move on! I want to get lunch at some point!" So basically Scott tried to say that anyone could skateboard, so Liv has been letting him to prove this fact for the past two hours. Honestly, I'm just hungry and bored.
"Twenty bucks he falls on his face again," Freddy held up a twenty.
"Deal," Chandler pulled his cigarette from his mouth, "but if he falls on his ass I get forty from you."
"Fine with me," Freddy pulled out another twenty, "wanna join Cody?"
Pondering for a bit, "Sure, I bet he will slam the back of his head on the ground and will whine like a baby. If he does, I get forty from both of you." They looked between each other and nodded.
Sorry Scotty boy, but you better fall on your head. He moved up to the ramp, boasting himself up. Then he went for it. He was okay, until he lost control once he got to the other side, falling back, right on his head.
"Damn that looked bad," Freddy covered his mouth.
"Maybe it knocked some sense into him," Chandler burned out his cigarette.
I held out my hand, "Pay up boys and lets not argue about this." Chandler held up his finger, keeping his eyes on Scott.
"Dammit Scot, why did you have to cry," Chandler handed me the forty. Freddy passed it over, bickering with himself.
"Pleasure doing business with you guys," I slipped it into my back pocket and got on my board, riding down to the Liv holding Scot, "how bad?"
"Not too bad," she was inspecting his head, "just a slight bump."
"Okay, maybe a skateboard isn't exactly easy," he said with tears in his eyes. We all laughed at him, then helped him up to one of the park benches.
"You good?" Chandler was waiting on his bike, "Because I'm hungry and I sure know the rest are too."
"I can go for food," Scott got up fast, wobbling a bit. This idiot I swear. He rode on the back of Freddy's bike, Liv carried my board as I rode Scotty's bike to the sandwich shop we always go to. The sandwich shop is ran by this old man that just adores us. His name is Mister Ruffles.
"Hey Mister Ruffles," Freddy busted through the doors, rubbing his stomach like a child, "I am starving!"
"Fredister! Livy my dear!" He hugged them first, "Chandler where's Mon?" Chandler glared at him, but gave him a hug. I was placing Scot in a booth, "Scotty my boy, what happened?"
"I challenged Liv," he muttered his defeat.
"You should have known better," Ruffles then turned to me, "and there's my favorite of the group!" He pulled me into this giant bear hug, "I saw that show of yours! My my it was good! Keep up with the good work, and remember me when you're famous." I chuckled. Mister Ruffles has always treated us like his sons and one daughter. He went behind the counter, "The usual?"
"Yes sir!" Liv held out cash, but I shoved her hand down, "come on Cody!"
"Nope, not happening. Once I die you can," I handed my card to Ruffles, him giving me a wink. Liv squished me, making me laugh.
"You spoil me way too much!"
I gave her a bear hug, "You're my little sister! Of course I get to spoil your ass!" She rushed over to Scott and Freddy went out to vape. I waited for the food by the counter with Chandler. He was standing right in front of me, with his hands in his pocket, "You have dirt on your shirt."
"Where?" He glanced down, not seeing the patch. I leaned forward, knocking off the dirt, "Ah I didn't see it."
"Well you are blind," I chuckled, but when I retrieved my hand he took it in his. I peeked up through my hair, "What?"
"Can we hangout later?"
"Uh sure," I was a little red, "where are we all going?"
"Just us," he cleared up for me. I nodded, getting a little excited. He took a step closer, lifting my chin, "I miss having alone time with you."
"Me too," I whispered. We haven't really had time to just be with one another. I was recording, his dad was making him do work some days, and when we had time we were with everyone. He was playing with my charm bracelet he gave me a while ago, "You need a new chain."
"It's fine to me," I twisted it around to see the charm.
He grabbed my hand, playing with my fingers, "Let's buy it together." I love how gentle he gets in these kind of moments. How much I wanted to reach out and kiss him.
"All done boys!" Ruffles yelled out, having us move over to grab the sandwiches. I tipped him as usual and went over to everyone. Liv ran straight for the drinking fountain, filling the cup up with root beer. Scot had water since he was forming a headache. Chandler and I always get the same, coke. Freddy is the weird one out of us, since he ran across the street to get a milkshake.
"Nothing is better than Ruffles sandwiches," Liv's smile was so big, I swear I could fit a football in it. She had a bit of lettuce by her mouth, so without thinking, I pulled it away. Live was confused but when she noticed I had the lettuce in my fingers, she smiled again, "Thanks!"
"No sweat," I wiped my hand, but when I glanced over to Scott, he looked pissed. Not caring since he was probably upset about embarrassing himself, I devoured my sandwich. Chandler was just simply eating, all quiet, but Freddy was outrageous. He was talking loudly and laughing like crazy. "What the hell were you smoking?" I grabbed his drink before it fell.
"I was vaping thank you very much!" He shook his head like a mad man, "but I may have slipped an edible in. Bessie has the best shit!"
I rolled my eyes at him. Chandler spoke up, "Can you ask Bessie to get me another carton? I'm running low."
"No problem my dude!" Freddy laughs like a maniac.
"Didn't you just get a new carton a few days ago?"
"Yeah, but I'm running low. I guess I just blew through them," he says with ease. It was concerning me. Chandler smokes, but usually not this much. I guess I'll ask him about it later. After we are all done, we drop Scott at home because he's whining about his head. Liv decided to go meet her dad at the police station, since he's a cop. Freddy ran off to Bessie's, probably to get even more high.
Chandler and I stood at the end of a street, him smoking and me watching him. I got a text from Shawn saying I needed to get to the studio, I groaned, "I have to go. Shawn is being annoying again." Chandler nodded, leaning in and giving me a quick kiss. I was starving for his lips. I started to pedal, til I stopped. I looked over my shoulder and yelled, "You need to slow down on the smoking. I'm worried about you."
He grinned, "Fine, but you better make it up to me with your kisses."
I hid my faces since I was blushing so hard, "What if I said that would be fine?"
"Then I would stop smoking so much," he was totally loving this, "what if I wanted a kiss right now?"
I looked around, then rode over to him. I grabbed his neck and placed my lips on his. It was supposed to be a light kiss, but he held me still to deepen the kiss. I knew I was red in the face. However, I also knew he loved it. He licked my bottom lip, telling me he wanted entrance.
I denied.
He growled, "Stubborn ass."
"Oh I am," I smiled in our kiss, but pulled away, "see you tomorrow. You better slow down on smoking and be careful getting home."
"I will," he pulled me in for one more kiss. I kissed him back real kiss then tore away. I waved him a goodbye as I went down the road. My heart was going so fast and I was just so drunk off our kiss.
I couldn't stop smiling for the rest of the day.
