I am so so so sorry it took me this long to update :( I expected to finish this a lot sooner, but some things got in the way like technological problems (my least favorite kind of problem because I am an absolute idiot with technology) and then I got super sick and wasn't up to doing anything. Also I've been working a ton to try and save money, but enough about me! Here's the chapter finally! (better late than never right?) I hope you enjoy and please stay safe and healthy!!

**apologies for typos, I edited this at 3 am, all errors are mine (or autocorrect)**

Wednesday before Thanksgiving
Third Person POV

"Welcome home, baby," Damon said sweetly to his girlfriend as they stood on the porch of the boarding house. He reached over to peck her on the cheek and she smiled, but not the radiant smile she normally gave him after his acts of affection. It was almost a sad smile.

"What's that face? Aren't you happy to be home?" He asked.

"I am, I just, I liked being in New York, where it was just the two of us." She admitted, placing her hand on his chest and smirking up at him.

"Well, we can always go back. What do you say, Christmas this year?" He asked with a grin.

"Deal!" She said excitedly, pecking him on the lips before reaching for the door handle. He stopped her before she could open it.

"What the-" She started, confused, but got her answer when he swiftly scooped her up in his arms bridal style and held her tightly to his chest.

"What are you doing?!" She squealed.

"I'm carrying you over the threshold," He said nonchalantly, opening the door and walking inside.

She laughed happily at that, "Why? It's not like we got married or something!" She exclaimed.

"I know, I'm just trying it out. Seeing how it feels." He smirked proudly.

He set her down before pulling their luggage in and closing the door behind them.

"Well? How does it feel?" She asked with a sly grin, poking him in the chest.

"Pretty good if I do say so myself." He said smugly, bringing out her radiant smile, taking her in his arms and kissing her senseless before she could reply.

He pushed her softly against one of the walls of the entryway, causing her to moan into this kiss. He moved his mouth to her jaw and neck, lavishing every inch of skin lovingly.

"Wait Damon stop," she interrupted the glorious assault on her neck. "What if Stefan's home?" She whispered.

"Then we'll give him quite the show," he winked. She slapped him in the chest at that. "Fine, fine!" He relented, pulling away from her but only slightly. "Stefan!" He yelled out for him, awaiting a response. "There's a bunny waiting outside just dying to be eaten!" He joked, causing Elena to snicker.

When they heard no response, he turned back to her with the smirk she knew all-too-well. The smirk that could let him get his way ninety-nine percent of the time.

"Well, would you look at that? We're all alone. Whatever shall we do?" He pondered sarcastically. He wasted no time before resuming his sweet kisses on her neck, trailing his hands up and down her sides lovingly.

"Damon, we shouldn't. I should really get back home and see Ric and Jer-"

"What happened to a few seconds ago when you said you liked it when it was just the two of us?" He asked.

She bit her lip, unwilling to give in yet.

"We're gonna be surrounded by our friends and family these next few days and it will be hard to get a few moments alone, so I say we make good use of our time right now," he reasoned with her, raising his eyebrows suggestively and doing that eye thing she told him she hated (but secretly loved).
