6. change of plans

late december 2018
3rd person POV

you and all the members were seated at a table with your manager and bang pd on the other side.

that morning you were all called into a meeting

"im sure you're all wondering why i called this meeting" bang pd said making us all nod. "well first off, we have decided that the introduction videos we filmed not to long ago will be released next month"

after hearing those words you unintentionally said  "oh god" all eyes went to you

"if something wrong?" your manager asked
"well im just scared for how people will take it." you said
"what do you mean" soobin asked sitting up

"like how are people going to react to a girl being in a boy group? sure there are groups like kard and trouble maker but those are even numbers: two boys and two girls, or one boy one girl. not five guys and one girl" you said finally realizing that this group was different

"well" bang pd started "im going to be honest, you'll probably get hate. people wont like you because you're different in the way that you're not in a group with girls. BUT thats why we came up with an idea to get people to like you more"

"and that is?" you asked

"we want you to be the leader"

your head shot up and you sat up straight.
"what?!? but isnt soobin supposed to be the leader" you said looking over at soobin. he had the same shocked face as you

"well originally when we agreed for him to be leader the main reason was because his age is in the middle and now that you're here, you're the middle." bang pd stated

"ok but,," you stuttered, looking over at soobin. he was already looking at you. hesitating before speaking he said

"i think you should do it" he said now with a big smile on his face
"what?!? you agree with them?"
"yeah i think you should do it" he leaned in "plus maybe it'll get yeonjun to be nice" he whispered

you laughed "i doubt that will happen but fine ill do it"
"great! last thing-"
"theres more?" you groaned but immediately sat up after realizing you said it out loud

bang pd gave you a look, before laughing "you know, i like you"
"thanks but im still a minor"
"haha not like that" bang pd said bursting into laughter
"oh-"

"right the last thing is, y/n we want you to go buy your english name"

"what why?" you asked confused
"we think its a better idol name than y/n" your manager said
"whats your english name?" beomgyu asked turning to look at you"

before you could answer, your manager answered the question for you
"Rosalía"
"yah! couldn't i have said it myself?" you pouted

"Rosalía" beomgyu repeated to himself "thats a pretty name" he said
your face quickly became pink from the compliment
"thats all for today" bang pd said getting up, followed by your manager

"wait but i never agreed to going by Rosalía" you said calling after them but it was too late
"dont stress too much" taehyun said putting a hand on your shoulder. you looked up at him " its a pretty name" he said ruffling your hair before leaving the room
