Malory woke up groggily to the sound of her alarm clock ringing incessantly for the 3rd time that morning. It was only then that she remembered it was her first day, and she really shouldn't be late
She rushed down the stairs of the house as fast as she could to see Meredith lying on the couch, most likely hungover as she went to a bar the night before. As she walked closer she saw a man lying on the floor naked with a blanket just covering his torso
"Psst," Malory whispered into Merediths ear
"What?" Meredith said half asleep
Malory bent down and pulled the blanket off the man and threw it to Meredith she quickly looked away as she had saw more than she bargained for. She quickly placed a pillow on his bum, which woke him up
"This is...uh," The man said picking up a bra that was beside him
"Humilating on so many levels," Meredith said
"You have to go," Malory said looking at him
"Why don't you just come back down here and we'll pick up where we left off," The man said
"No. Seriosuly. You have to go, we're late, which isn't what you want to be on your first day of work," Meredith said pulling the blanket tighter around her
"So, uh, you actually live here," The man said putting his pants on
"No. Yes. Kinda," Meredith and Malory said simultaneously
"Oh. It's nice. A little dusty. A lot, but it's nice. So how do you kinda live here?" He asked
"We moved two weeks ago from Boston. It was our mother's house," Meredith explained
Malory just stood beside her sister awkwardly not knowing what to do
"Oh, I'm sorry," He said zipping up his pants
"For what?" Malory asked confused
"You said was," He said
"Oh. Our mother's not dead she's- You know what? We don't have to do the thing," Meredith said
"We can do anything you want," The man said and Malory tried to look anywhere except at the two
"No. The thing, exchange the details, pretend we care. Look I'm gonna go upstairs and take a shower, okay? And when I get back down here you won't be here, so goodbye..." Meredith said
"Derek," Derek told her
"Derek. Right Meredith," Meredith said shaking his hand
"Nice meeting you," Derek said as Meredith ran upstairs
"Bye Derek," Meredith said embarrassed
Derek and Malory looked at each other awkwardly
"I'm Malory," Malory said shaking his hand
"Right. I should probably go," Derek said
"Probably," Malory said and Derek walked out the door
Malory walked slowly up the stairs and walked into the bathroom to brush her teeth
"You know. If you're gonna bring a guy home make sure he's gone by the time I wake up," Malory said to Meredith who was in the shower
"Yeah, sorry," Meredith apologised

"Each of you comes here today hopeful, wanting in on the game. A month ago you were in med school being taught by doctors, today you are the doctors," A dark-skinned man said and the twins quietly walked into the OR room late
