Chapter 36

Katie's POV

I was so over this whole night. I was quiet the rest of the ride. When we got to the house I went straight inside and went to the kitchen for a drink. The boys followed me in.

Bryce "Don't worry about tonight, Bryan is a douche bag and ..."

Me "I'm not mad about the whole Bryan thing. I don't expect much from people anymore."

I walked right past Jaden and out of the room. I could feel his eyes on me but I refused to look back. I heard him follow me out of the kitchen.

Jaden "What is your problem?"

I felt the wall that I had up that was holding everything in come crashing down.

Me "You. You are my problem Jaden."

Jaden "How am I the problem? Please enlighten me."

Me "We are never on the same page anymore. First you tell me to go for Bryan, then you take me on an adventure that definitely had more then friend intentions with it and then you keep bringing Mads around. Then que the innocent but jealous like behavior over me and Bryce and then you make dumb fucking comments to the damn media instead of letting me speak for myself."

Jaden "I didn't mean that comment like that. The media just asked the wrong question and it triggered me."

Me "Triggered you? Like you're the one living through it?"

I felt the built up tension just pouring out of me.

Me "I just don't know about this anymore Jaden."

Jaden "You don't know about what?"

I saw all the boys standing at the kitchen door looking concerned but I didn't hesitate.

Me "I don't know what you want from me. Please just fucking tell me.."

He stood there and it felt like he was looking directly into my soul. He took a step closer to me and the reached his hand out and grabbed behind my neck. He pulled me into him and kissed me. I felt like he took my breath away. When he pulled back he closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

Jaden "You Katie. You're all I've ever wanted."

I was speechless. I didn't know how to react. I don't think anyone did. As we stood there I noticed Bryce heading straight for the stairs. His body language was tense. I got out of Jaden's grip and watched Bryce walk away.  I turned back to Jaden and it's like he just knew.

Jaden "Go. I'll be down here waiting."

Jaden's Rewind POV

We walked out of the restaurant and got bombarded by fans and the media. We were handling it the best we could and then I heard one talking to Katie.

Reporter "Who's your latest thing? You're here with all the sway boys of course but we've heard some rumors of you and their old buddy Bryan."

I couldn't believe what they just asked. I wasn't going to let them even begin a rumor associating Katie with that loser. It looked like Katie froze. I stepped over and placed my arm over her shoulder and pulled her in to me.

Jaden "Let me set the record straight. Bryan is not a buddy of ours and Katie would never lower her standards that low to date him."

I quickly pulled Katie along with me and made our way over to the Uber. I helped her in and then got in next to her.
