Rio took us to a taco shop that was right outside of town. I'd never heard of it, but he was right. This place had some of the best tacos that I'd ever tasted in my life. They even rivaled Oscar's tacos, but I'd never tell him that.

"So, when is the last time you talked to Spooky?" Rio asked right before he dipped one of his tacos. "I spoke to him the day before yesterday." "How did he sound? He doing okay back there?" "You know him, he wouldn't let me know if he wasn't." He nodded, "Yeah, he was always pretty good at hiding his emotions." He laughed a little.

"What's funny?" I said looking at him. He shook his head slightly, "Nothing, it's just, Spooky is so used to being the leader and having anything he wanted. It must be different for him now."

I shrugged my shoulders, "I don't know. Oscar has always seemed to adapt to whatever situation he's in. I just pray everyday that he's okay."

Rio nodded, "Well what about you?" He pointed to me. "It seems like he'll always have you." "I'm his best friend. So, yeah, he will always have me." Rio tilted his head to the side. "So are you his girlfriend too? Or just his friend."

I didn't know how to answer that question. I wanted to say girlfriend and then I wanted to just say friend. I didn't know what to say. It was times like this that I hated how complicated me and Oscar's relationship was. I loved him so much and I know he loved me too. But if we loved each other so much, why couldn't we ever just be together.

"Riella?"

"Huh?"

He smiled at me with a wide smile. Then he sat back, seeming to just admire my features. "I asked you a question hermosa. Are you Spooky's girlfriend too, or just his friend?" I hesitated again, "I'm his friend." Rio sat up, seeming to be really intrigued now. "So you and Spooky have never.....??" I squinted at him. "Never what?"

"Um, it's just you know Spooky usually always gets what he wants. He's made it clear for years now that you are his and are off limits to anybody else. So I guess I just assumed that you two have had sex before."

I shook my head, "Well you're wrong." His eyes shot open, "You and Spooky have never had sex?!" I shook my head.

"Wow, that's a surprise."

I sat back in the chair and folded my arms. "Why is that a surprise?"

He sat forward, "I mean, I'm just not used to hearing that a girl hasn't fucked Spooky." I sucked my teeth, "Well, I'm not just any girl." "You got that right."

"You know what, I'm not hungry anymore. Can you just take me home?"

"Riella, I didn't mean to offend you. If I did, I'm sorry." Rio apologized and moved closer to me. I rolled my eyes and moved my hand away from him before he could touch it. "Can you just take me home please?" He sighed and nodded.

He put some money on the table for a tip and then we both walked outside and got into his truck. He put the keys into the ignition, but didn't start the truck just yet. "Riella, I am sorry. I really didn't mean to upset you."

"Well you did." I folded my arms together. "Why would act like it's that big of a surprise? Like I can't think for myself? Like just because it's Oscar, I HAVE to have fucked him." Rio turned to me, "Look Spooky acts like he owns everything and everyone. You can't be mad at me for thinking he owned you too." "Well he doesn't." I sat back in my seat and rolled my eyes.

Rio started the truck and drove me back to Spooky and Cesar's house. I quickly got out and marched up to the front door. Rio got out and followed me. He reached out and touched my hand before I could unlock the door. I turned around to face him. When he saw the tears in my eyes, his face looked so worried. "Riella. I didn't mean to make you cry. Mamita, I promise that was never my intention."

I nodded, "I know. I know. I just, you're not the first person who has said that to me. Maybe not as directly as you did, but someone else said something similar to me. It just makes me feel like I'm not my own person. Like I can't think for myself." Rio moved closer to me and wiped the tears from my cheeks. "But you are. You definitely think for yourself Riella. You're a tough morenita." I laughed a little at his comment. "I like that about you." He sighed, "And I'm sorry for the twenty one questions at lunch. It's just you don't know how coveted you are. Spooky treats you like you're golden. He doesn't allow anyone to speak about you in his presence. Like, I don't know. I've never seen a man so possessive over a girl the way he is with you. But yet, you two aren't in a relationship. So it just makes things even more complicated."

"All I know is, I've heard so much about you and how beautiful you are for so long. And all I can think about, now that I've finally seen you, is that they're compliments do your beauty no justice at all. Riella you are, you are truly breathtaking. I understand why Spooky claimed you, but that he's never really made you his girl just confuses me."

Rio pulled me closer to him by my waist. "I would have married you as soon as possible. And we would have about three or four kids running around here by now." All I could do was stare at him and listen. I do want those things. I want to be in a relationship, get married and have kids. I want all of those things. I just want them with Oscar, nobody else.

"Riella, I know you like Oscar and I know you're his best friend, but what makes you happy? What do you want?"
