This Picture was taken by my Mum in Cornwall from a place called Botallack Mine. It is the remains of an old Tin Mine and it is a really interesting place. Later on, I will add some pictures of the old buildings.
I can feel all the eyes on me as we ride through the city. White stone walled buildings rise around us with their red tiled roofs. The streets are wide and bustling with people. It is also immaculate and beautiful. The plants that grow up the walls ad colour to the city. The roads are wide, leaving plenty of room for both horses and people to walk with ease. Eyes are on us as we go past. Iona tells me to smile so I do as looks of shock pass on the Shifters faces. "Do they know who we are?" I ask Iona.
"Of course," she replies with a large smile on her face. As we walk through the city further it gets more busy and quieter as people move out of our way and stop, bowing as we pass. I look at all the stalls set up around with hundreds of different things. There are some with Jewellery and some with scarfs and cloths. There are also ones with cheeses and breads. The smell of freshly prepared baked goods wafts through the air along with the smell of flowers and soil.
"We are in the centre of the market," Eric tells us as we come out of a street and into a large circle which surrounds the bank. It is very busy. My eyes widen and I smile. It is so full of life. Shifters walk around and chat with each other happily. Some are on horseback and others are in their animal forms. I duck as a small bird flies over my head and lands on the ground near me as a young boy. He looks behind at us and giggles happily. His mother shouts and runs over to him and I just smile as she looks behind at us and smiles before pulling her son away.
"What have I told you about flying into people?" Her voice is soft as she speaks to him. He just looks back and waves at us.
"Come on," she laughs before shifting into a small Blue tit. Her son follows her as she flies away, though his movements are much more jagged and young. He is still just learning. When I look next to me, I see children chasing each other. Shifting from human to their animals which range from horses to dogs, to birds. There is so much laughter everywhere and colour. Colour is worn by everyone. There is no hair colour or eye colour the same, everyone is different.
Iona starts making her way through the crowd and we follow. They don't notice us as much as we make our way to the grand bank entrance. Two huge white pillars stand tall beside the huge wooden doors and the white brick building towers around it. Intricate carvings also make their way around the walls and a thin gold band sits just below the domed roof."You can leave the horses here," Iona tells us. I slide off of Rivers back, landing gracefully on the ground. I don't bother tying him up, I know he will stay.
"I'll be back soon," I tell him, tickling his muzzle. He huffs and nudges my shoulder. Laughing, I follow Iona into the large building.
