The Perfect Love Story

The day we met you made my breath catch
The perfect person in my mind I made a sketch
Looking down at you from my ledge
I realize it's you drawn to perfection
Terrified of rejection
On my ledge I stayed
Until one day
You were so cliche
Throwing stones at my window
Five years down the road
On my ledge we sat
Basking in the moment
Fearing it was the last
Time flies
Here I lye
Starring into the eyes
Of our child
When times are bleak
I'm reminded of the trees
Of when we meet
Here we are all grey and old
Telling our grandchild
When we met of the forest road
The end is nearer
It may seem dreary
But it truly was our perfect love story
