This was the second murder.

This time it was a middle-aged woman, with greyish hair, shot once at the side which lead to her death. No signs of resistance, no bruise marks, no man handling evidences; just one shot and nothing else.

"Jasim, the autopsy reports are here. No corroboration of toxins in the body. None of the organs are out of place, and the death is undoubtedly caused by the bullet and not any other health condition of the victim. Seems like the killer didn't want to have a fight." She declared after going through the reports.

Time of death : 3:40 pm, 6th June 2019. I read out loud. The time around when Samantha exited from the library after her working hours.

"The only similarities between the previous murder and this one is that; both were females, hit by a bullet, and were shot at times when they were out of people's sight." I voiced out while contemplating on all the evidences that were present.

"Jasim, the old lady did not have kids, and her husband already passed away. I don't see a clear reason why someone would want to kill her, she was just living a lonely and selfless life. From what her peers affirmed, she was an immensely amiable, kind-hearted woman." Sana uttered while clicking the pen on the table which was beginning to annoy me a little bit now. Snatching the pen from her hand, I replied back.

"The last murder also was of a benign young lady, who was already engaged might I add? The killer isn't going for riches or organs. Neither is he interested in assaulting his targets, his motive is related to him."

Samantha and Maryam's families were now under our agencie's patrolling and were accompanied by guards everywhere they travelled. The particular case seemed family oriented, where the killer's motives are not involved with upper grounds. Samantha had only far-fetched relatives and didn't look like they had anything to do with the case, but we weren't taking any chances.

Our positions, currently, were in the Ahmed household. Specifically, in the backyard. I was precisely 1 metre away from where Sana was, always.

No way was I letting her out of my sight! She's mine to keep, uh I mean to protect. I meant like colleagues, ok? Not like married couples. Annoying little...fine! I was going to shield her wherever she went, like her husband or whatever. She is in my Nikah, no denying now.

Maryam's father, Imtiaz Ahmed was still desolated by his daughter's death and I had an intuition that he wasn't safe either. His wife grimly brought us Maryam's school and office reports while we hawk-eyed every premise of their house. Figuratively, they saw no purpose in living but we had to live up to our jobs.
