TW: Mention of blood,

Logan woke up at around 3am to feel the spot in bed next to him cold and empty. Normally his boyfriend Janus would be lying next to him, being the little spoon he was. Though for some reason Janus wasn't there.

Logan knew that what he was thinking was irrational. Dee had probably just went to the bathroom or went to go get a glass of water. Though something seemed off about the whole scenario. Logan decided to listen to his instinct. He slid off of the bed and threw on a shirt and jeans since he had a tendency to sleep in only his boxers.

He walked out of his room and looked up and down the hall. He could see the bathroom light on under the door. It could be one of the other sides, but Logan walked over anyways and knocked on the door. After waiting for a minute and not getting a response he knocked again. "Hello? Is someone in there?" He asked, trying to keep his voice free of worry, though there was some anyways.

Shuffling could be heard inside the bathroom as the door unlocked and opened to show an extremely disheveled Janus. His cape was draped over the side of the tub, his hat was on the sink counter along with his gloves, and his left sleeve was rolled up to reveal his scales. That was the concerning part.

Deceit's left arm also had his snake half that appeared on his face. Four times a year, every three months, he would, shed per se. It was extremely itchy and lasted two weeks. Janus barely could stand being around anyone other than Logan and, long story short, it just all-around sucked.

On top of that the snake boy would also try and scratch the scales off early, but that didn't work. It just caused him to bleed and that had gotten extremely bad in the past.   Once it was bad enough that he had passed out from blood loss, though that was a very long time ago. "Oh my gosh, Baby." Logan rushed into the bathroom and held Janus's fully human hand. "You know you're supposed to tell me so I can help you to the best of my abilities."

Deceit looked down so he could avoid eye contact with the logical side. "I- didn't want to be a bother." He murmured, his voice laden with guilt. "'M sorry..."

"You could never annoy me, Sweetheart." He opened the cabinet and pulled a medkit out from under the sink. "Now I know it isn't any fun to bandage while you are shedding, but we need to give your skin and the general area a little time to recover so that they don't get raw." Janus nodded and Logan sat down in front of him. He took Deceit's arm in his hand and started to clean it.

Multiple times Janus hissed from pain, and eventually his arm was bandaged. "Are you okay?" Logan asked, giving Janus a light hug. Dee quickly hugged back tightly. He clung to Logan as if Logan was the only thing keeping him alive.

"No." Deceit said, clearly speaking the truth. Logan had been working with him so he didn't have to talk in lie-speech all the time. "Thank you for helping me." He snuggled into Logan's warm comforting grasp.

"Anytime, Boop Noodle." Janus hissed at that nickname, though it was a playful hiss, not a mean one. Logan checked his watch to see that the time was nearing six o'clock am. "Well, I don't think that we will be able to get anymore sleep tonight." He saw Janus's face fall at that. "Hey, don't blame yourself. I'm glad I could help you. Want to help me make breakfast for everyone?"

"Only if we're making waffles." Deceit bargained.

"That sounds like a plan!" Logan and Janus grabbed their things and cleaned up the bathroom before walking downstairs. With that, the two walk downstairs and start making the batter for the waffles. It doesn't take to long before the first batch of waffles is finished and the table was set with everyone's favorite toppings, ranging from chocolate syrup, to strawberries, to Nutella.

"Jay, will you be okay for a minute if I go to wake up the others?" He finished setting the plates at the table for everyone and turned to his boyfriend. The snake side turned around and nodded that it would be okay. "Are you sure?" Logan asked, concern evident in his voice.

"Yes, Logie. I will be fine. I promise that I won't scratch at them while you are gone." Janus said, giving Logan a quick smile before going back to cooking the waffles. Logan gave a quick nod and walked upstairs. He individually went to everyone's rooms and made sure they were all up and getting ready for breakfast. Though, Remus almost whacked him upside the head with his mace in the process, but that was normal.

Logan went back downstairs to see Janus still watching the waffles. As promised, even though his scales probably itched horribly, Janus hadn't scratched. Logan was so proud of him. Obviously he didn't have his own scales so he didn't know what it felt like, but he knew it was hard for Janus to be okay with them. With that, since he learned that, he had made it his job to help Janus.

Everyone sat around the table, enjoying the waffles Janus and Logan had made. The rest of the day Logan and Janus spent it together, almost never leaving the other's side. A day full of cuddles, reassurances, and cute fluffy stuff. Janus got through his scales shedding with little to no problems as long as his boyfriend Logan was there to help him. Mostly because Logan noticed the little things considering he was the single braincell of Thomas (which is a very difficult job in case you weren't aware).

The two truly loved each other.

Very fluff. I'm so done with writing really heavy angst (in case you don't know what I'm talking about check out my other Sanders Sides one-shots book based on the Whumptober prompts). I had started writing this forever ago and decided to finish it. The ending seemed really rushed because I forgot where the plot originally went, but whatever. This was fun.

I hope y'all enjoy!

Sincerely,
AlphaG
