Escape
"Shit" they breathed out.
Namjoon rushed to check if the door was locked and thankfully, it was.
"Alright. Alright." He mumbled. "Don't panic." His voice was deep, but not calm at all.
"Joon you're the one panicking" Jin said and stepped closer to him. He put his hand on his shoulder and patted it.
Namjoon looked calmer by that. He took a deep breath and started talking, for my surprise, he didn't stutter, he didn't make any mistakes. He sounded confident. A real leader. Although I don't know if the others agreed on that, they seemed like they accepted and trusted him. As he was speaking I got lost in my thoughts and wasn't really paying attention... but looking at them and making plans was so good to watch. Jungkook stepped closer to me and stood by my side. From the corner of my eyes, I saw how he basically drinks every word Namjoon says, his eyes never left him and from his expression, I could see that he looks up at him. Sometimes he nodded, signalling him that he understood what he said and completely he was willing to do it, the best he can.
The others were just as curious and they were listening carefully too. Seeing how much they respect each other and how they can work together made me feel like I was a part of something. Something that I can put trust in.
"...So we can hopefully get rid of them down there" Namjoon finished his speech. The men sighed and started putting their guns and weapons on themselves.
"You weren't listening, were you?" Jungkook whispered in my left ear suddenly. His hot breath sent shivers through my body.
I didn't say anything. I didn't want to admit it and feel like a burden to them, although I was.
"Stay close" He whispered back and turned me around by my arm. His lips curved into a small, warm smile, but in his eyes, I saw worry. I felt bad for getting them in a dangerous situation.Suddenly, we heard footsteps from outside the door. The loud thumping noises as their feet hit the stairs were coming closer. And in a second, the footsteps' sound faded. We all remained as silent as we just could. We knew that they were standing right outside the door.
"I know you're here (y/n)" we heard an irritating shout from a man, who's voice I instantly recognized. "Are you hiding from me?" Mark sounded horrifying. His voice was cracking from word to word. As he finished the sentence I heard gunshots shot from there. "Not in the closet" he said low, but we could still hear it.
"Come out, love" he's back with his crazy-sounding tone. "You can't hide from me, our love connects us, and it orders me to you. I KNOW you're down here" his voice got louder when he said he knows. I jumped at the sudden change, but I didn't make any sound. He stopped talking, probably waiting for an answer from me, but there was no way I go out to him. Other footsteps could be heard on the stairs and mumbling on the outside. "She's not upstairs" was the only part of the conversation that I could understand.
The next thing I heard was loud screeching. It sounded like they pushed the old couch that the boys were sitting on when I first met them from its place. They found nothing under it, but I'm sure they hoped for a secret door to be there.
"Baby, why don't you come out? Don't tell me you're afraid. I'll protect you" Mark shouted again, but his voice wasn't that irritating now. It was more soft, caring. And worried. Was he worried because he had no idea where am I?They started to rummage the room, searching for anything that can lead them to me. They caused a lot of noise. The men who were with me started to rush to the bathroom door, seeing that this is our chance to escape and before I could think, Jungkook grabbed my arm as he did for the hundredth time today, and started pulling me towards the same room. When we got to the door he pushed me towards it and got behind me. He locked the bathroom door from the inside.
The room was big if you're the only one using it. But we were in there eight, so it was pretty crowded. Jungkook rushed to the front to Namjoon and Hoseok. They crouched down in front of the shower and with a noisy creaking sound (which I hope couldn't be heard in the other room) they pulled up the bottom of the shower. It was a hidden door on the floor and the shampoos and other objects were just to make us believe it was just a shower. They disappeared into the hole, one by one while Jungkook kept the door open. It looked heavy and he had to put all his weight on it to keep it open. I was the last one to go, so I didn't waste any time going down. A dirty, cold iron ladder was leading the way. It was disgusting to touch and when I reached the bottom, a smell hit my nose which almost made me throw up. It was like rubbish mixed up with rotten eggs and vomit. It was disgusting, nauseating and sickening. But it didn't matter. If this was the only way to survive, I'll take it. Jungkook jumped down behind me.
"Ready" he said and the pack started moving. The ground was slippery because of the muck all over it. In their eyes, it must be fast walking but for me and my short legs, it was more like a slow jogging pace. But no matter how slow I was, Jungkook always stayed behind me, keeping me close to the others. Only our footsteps and some panting could be heard.
It was really dark. I had no idea where we were going, but to be honest, I didn't care, I had to trust them.
