Checking the tallies I have chipped into a piece of wood I carry with me ever since being bitten, I realize why I was so emotional. It is starting. I must remain calm and composed. I also must find new clothes, the ones I am wearing now reveal too much skin that will quickly turn colors and give me away.

Honeybee must not find out. I must formulate a plan to abscond from her presence before it really starts to set into my body. I isolated myself enough today to check the mold circumference, which has spread to a whopping 5 centimeters. The teeth marks are practically black at this point which means I really must keep it hidden. I am eating now silently across from her at a smokeless campfire, looking very guilty, but hopefully she will think that that is from refusing her yesterday. I will apologize now.
