It was almost three o'clock so we started to head back to the ship, we were successful shopping around and buying stuff anyways. We were almost at the dock when a guard was in our path a few feet in front of us. We knew he was after us because of the way he was looking at us. "Miss, you need to come with us."
Davion stepped in front of me. "Why should she?" I looked around and noticed a bunch of people staring at us, confused why I was stopped by the guard and probably why I was clothed the way I was.
"We know who she is." The guard spoke with a low manly voice. "Turn her over or else there will be trouble." A few more guards came and stood with him. I could tell Davion was troubled by the situation, by the looks of it he didn't bring his sword. "We also know who you are, Captain Davion. Now hand her over and I'll put in a good word for you."
His hands turned into fists. "Not a chance in hell!"
"So be it." The guard pulled out his sword and held it firmly in front of him.
Davion was about to walk forward when I stepped in his place, I walked forward and threw off the cloak. Everyone was amazed who it was. My white hair shined in the sunlight, my new red and white dress that only reached my thighs move slightly from the small amounts of wind, wasn't meant for fashion but for battle, and my grey high kneed boots.
Davion noticed my sword on my back. "You had that the entire time?" He asked.
"I did, I knew something like this would happen so I came prepared. Now, don't distract me." I said trying to concentrate on the situation at hand. I took my sword and sheath off my back, pulling the sword out of the sheath and swung it to my side. I held it firmly out in front of me. "If you stand in my way then I'll make things difficult for you." I threatened.
The guard smiled. "I would say that to yourself, stand down if you know what's good for you." He warned. I didn't reply, I stood there with my sword held high with a glare. His cocky expression turned into a frown with frustration. "Get her!" He yelled to the guards.
The guards started to run towards me, blades about to swing once they got close enough. I ran at them too, hearing a sound of protest from Davion. The guard didn't see me attack, in seconds I was below him. He got nervous and tried to back up once he realized how fast and agile I was. Using the end of the handle of my sword, I forced it upwards, forcing the handle into the bottom of his chin. He was down for the count. The next guard attacked me a few second afterwards, pulled a downwards slash. I quickly moved to the right, seeing my opening I punched him hard in the gut. Spit came from his mouth as he fell face first into the pavement, out of commission. I stood up, a few other guards came out of know where and tried to attack me from behind.
"Look out!" Davion yelled.
I quickly turned around and locked swords with him, almost losing my balance. He was stronger than me so he was slowly pushing me back, the other guard tried to attack me from the side. I jumped back as he tried to attack me, missing by a few inches. I immediately twirled my body so the back of my heel met his face, knocking him out. The kick forced him into the other guard, making him fall and hit his head on the concrete. After I was sure they were all passed out, I turned to the last guard who threatened me before. His face was filled with confusion, aggression, and fear. "You little witch!" He yelled.
He ran towards me, I stood my ground without hesitation. Before he knew it, Davion stepped in front of me and punched him in the face. So hard it knocked him out within seconds. Davion rubbed his wrist. "No one talks to her like that." He said irritatingly.
I put my sword back in it's sheath and smiled. "Good job." I praised. I walked passed him and headed for the boat. "Let's go, more guards will eventually show up." Davion grabbed our stuff and followed me back to the ship. I looked back at the people who were all clapping and waving goodbye.
We showed up to the ship, Brock was waiting for us. Once he saw us coming he gave us a sigh of relief. "Where were you guys, it's past three." He scolded.
"Sorry." Davion started. "We ran into a little bit of trouble."
"I'm just glad to see you were unharmed." He gestured to the ship. We went a aboard and started sailing away.
I was looking out into the ocean when I noticed Davion wasn't with me. I went under the deck and found him sitting on a barrel trying to bandage his wrist. He noticed me and looked away. "Sorry, I didn't want you to see me wounded. Didn't want you to worry."
I walked over to him and kneeled down in front of him, I took his wrist in my hands. "It's okay, you don't have to hide anything from me." I calmly said. "This is going to hurt just a bit." I warned. I started to massage his wrist. He pulled away in pain. "Sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you."
"No, It's okay. I shouldn't have pulled away." He gave me his wrist again and I started to massage it. "Where did you learn to fight like that?" He asked.
"I taught myself, ever since my guardian gave me that sword I've been training myself. I've always been into sword fighting but in my opinion the original way is boring. So I decided to create my own way." I started to rub around his arm, loosening the tense muscle.
"I've gotta say, I like your way better. You looked so cool fighting with the guards I'm pretty sure you impressed everyone in the shopping district." He looked away and blushed.
"Ya?" I wrapped his arm, I then let go. "There, it should be fine in a few days. Just don't put a lot of pressure on it."
He started to move it around. "Wow. it doesn't hurt. How did you learn how to do that?" He asked.
I looked at the ground and frowned sadly. "My guardian taught me, she took me in when no one else did. She doesn't have other family members besides me." I thought about granny, her large smile when she was teaching me how to care for other people back in the day. I was only eleven back then. 'This type of stuff will help your future husband when he works hard for you.' She said as she wrapped a clothe around my scraped knee. I remember that so well, she taught me so much. I then thought of Davion and blushed when I remembered he was sitting next to me.
He gave me a confused look. "You okay?" He asked with a worried frown.
I shook the memory off and ignored the fact that I was blushing. "Ya I'm fine, now that your patched up I'm going to the upper deck." I stood up and headed over to the stairs that lead to the upper deck when I heard Davion say something.
"Renae wait." I stopped but didn't look at him. "You know you can tell me anything, right?" His voice sounded worried yet calm.
I didn't look at him, I didn't answer him right away. I stood there for a moment before I replied. "Ya, I know." I climbed the stair case and left it at that.
