FEY GRIFFINS was very pleased that her brother, Lucas, wasn't chosen to compete. What did worry her though, was that Harry Potter was chosen as the fourth champion. Judging by his horrified expression in the grand hall when it was announced, he was not too happy either. What surprised Fey the most though, was that his best friend, Ron Weasley, was mad at him for being chosen. Fey thought that he would be worried like she was. Hufflepuff was not pleased when Harry was chosen either, they thought he was trying to take Cedric Diggory's thunder. Fey wanted to shout at them and explain he probably didn't even want to be picked either, but she didn't want to become an outcast in her own house.

She got to charms before Flitwick as usual and sat at her desk she shared with Ron. He arrived less than a minute later and for some reason, Fey had a strange feeling in her chest when his face lit up, seeing her at their desk. She dismissed it and started to read her charms textbook, as she did before every class.

Shortly after Ron sat down, he pushed a note under her nose.

how are you?
-ron
~

good, i'm especially happy Lucas wasn't chosen
-fey
~

right me too, i'd hate to see you upset about it
-ron
~

This warmed Fey's heart, seeing that Ronald cares about her.

aw thanks, hows harry taking it? being chosen i mean
-fey
~

i wouldn't know, i haven't really spoken to him after we had an argument after he was picked
-ron
~

that's so stupid! you're his best friend and i'm sure he needs you
-fey
~

you aren't upset he stole cedric's thunder?
-ron
~

i don't really care, honestly. i don't think it's his fault
-fey
~

then how did his name come out of the goblet of fire?
-ron
~

well obviously a very powerful wizard or witch tampered with it
-fey
~

that's pretty stupid sounding if you ask me. he knew i wanted to enter the competition. he just can't have me be better than him
-ron
~

don't think of it like that, maybe it's not his fault
-fey
~

whatever let's just stop talking about this
-ron
~

alright then, how's your day?
-fey
~

fine i guess
-ron
~

oh lighten up you big baby
-fey
~

shut up. how was your day?
-ron
~

it was very nice, thank you for asking
-fey
~

it's hard to tell if you're being sarcastic through these notes
-ron
~

here's a hint: im always being sarcastic
-fey
~

i'm just gonna ignore your sarcastic comments.
-ron
~

rude
-fey
~

hey, do you have a nickname?
-ron
~

no, why?
-fey
~

no reason i just think you need one.
-ron
~

well feel free to give me one, lion
-fey
~

i'll call you badger!
-ron
~

ugh i was hoping you would give up damnit
-fey
~

lighten up, badger
-lion
~

shush up, lion
-badger
~

With this, Fey (aka badger), turned her attention to Professor Flitwick who was trying to teach them how to do the accio spell. As hard as she was trying, Fey couldn't concentrate, as she was thinking about a certain lion who made her heart melt.

Little did she know, Ron (aka lion), was doing his best to ignore the small pull in his chest when he thought about Fey Griffin.

Fey has always tried to ignore her feelings, this not being an exception. She'd only been in one relationship before, and it lasted less than a week, so she had barely any experience with feelings like that.

Fey was oblivious to the longing stares Ron gives her in the grand hall and during charms, and Ron didn't notice how Fey's eyes lit up when he passed her a note. They were put in Gryffindor and Hufflepuff and not Ravenclaw for a reason, after all.
