The sky was perfectly blue with just a dusting of random white clouds. Even the typical dust in the air in Seoul seemed to be nonexistent just in time for Christmas Day.

Traffic was calm on the way to his parent's house as I once again took in all of the scenery the mini road trip had to offer.

After keeping his word and driving by the huge building that is his father's restaurant's headquarters, we end up driving more towards the outskirts of Seoul and possibly into another town all together as the buildings seem to become less and less and nature seems to become more and more.

Plush green trees and grass begin to line the roads. When I see a small farm, I know we've left the city limits.

"They don't live in Seoul?" I ask looking over at Taehyung.

The way the sun sparkles on his skin made my mouth dry and my heart skip a beat. He is always so breathtakingly gorgeous. Even beyond such a simple term like handsome. Every angle of his face, from his perfectly sharp albeit soft nose to his chiseled jawline seemed to be carved from God himself. Even his uneven eyelids made him that much more gorgeous.

"No, they don't like to live in the city. Dad likes to keep Seoul strictly for work and enjoys the commute back and forth. He said it helps him clear his mind." He explains as he removes his hand from the steering wheel to place it on my thigh. "You seem very relaxed and even though that's a great thing, I figured you'd be more nervous."

I shrug, "I figured I would have been too but I just feel a rush of calm over me right now. Like in the back of my mind, I know I don't have anything to worry about."

"Because you don't." He smiles and his thumb gently moves back and forth across the denim.

Taehyung insisted that we match today. Not only because we're a couple and that's typical dating culture here but because his mother always hires a photographer to take an annual Christmas photo of the family.

We both wore simple black denim jeans and black boots. I wore a red and white sweater and he wore a plain red turtleneck that seemed to be a match made it heaven against his honey colored skin.

The outfits were simple yet Christmas appropriate and from what I gather from previous talks with Taehyung, his mother enjoys the holidays as much as I do. At least that's one thing we have in common already and I take a mental note to lead with that if I need an ice breaker.

The car slows as he turns down a long driveway with a black iron gate in the distance.

As we drive closer, the trees aligning the stretch reveal a large home on the other side of said iron gate with large double front doors and multiple windows. It was decorated like it was plucked directly from a Christmas fairy tale and I grew excited at the possibility of seeing it lit up at night.

Taehyung slows to a stop in front of the gate and rolls down his window to press the lone call button.

"Ne?" A woman's voice answers through the intercom.

"Taehyung-ssi." He responds in his baritone voice.

"Taehyung-ssi!" The woman exclaims in excitement at the sound of him announcing himself and the gate beginning to spread open slowly.

He drives around the turnabout and parks the car right in front of the huge steps leading to the double doors.

"Wow!" I breathe out as I stare at the home that wasn't quite big enough to be considered a mansion but definitely was close to it. Bigger than any home I've ever been to at least.

"My dad was actually very poor growing up." He begins to explain, looking up at the house with me. "He worked very hard to provide a good life for my mother and I." He begins to chuckle and I look back at him. "He wanted a bigger house but my mom talked him out of it. I still remember that day. I was six years old when this house was built."
