The next day I was awoken to my phone vibrating on the table beside me. I rubbed my weary eyes and picked up my phone. It was Dan. I dropped my phone in shock and excitement before scrambling to pick it back up before it stopped ringing. "Hello?" I said with a half croaky voice. "Hi Y/N, it's uh Dan. Just wanted to know if you'd like to join me and Phil for breakfast? I mean it's okay if you're bus-" "No! I mean yes! That would be great!" It was unbelievably cute how awkward he sounded at the other end. "Ah great! So see you in about half an hour?" "Yes I'll see you there!" I hung up the phone and leapt out of bed smiling as I quickly gathered some clothes to throw on.
When I got down to breakfast I saw Dan and Phil sat at a table with a spare chair next to them. I still hadn't processed what was happening or what had happened. I brushed down my clothes and took in a deep breath. Gotta stay calm. "Y/N!" Dan called as I walked over to them. He stood up to give me a hug and Phil did the same. They were both warm and comforting and smelt of strong aftershave. We sat down and ordered some breakfast. Me and Phil went with pancakes whereas Dan stuck to waffles. "So did you sleep well?" Phil asked as Dan awkwardly shuffled his cutlery. "Yes good thank you, the pick me up really helped" Phil smiled and was about to reply when our breakfast arrived. After breakfast, I was taken back to Dan and Phil's apartment as some subscribers had began to swarm the hotel in search of them. "You should see the view from our apartment. It's seriously amazing!" "Yes it's very cool, but what isn't cool is that my phone charger has gone missing" Phil complained rummaging through his suitcase. Dan on the other hand was opening the door to the balcony to show me the view. In the words of Dan, it seriously was amazing. There were buildings for miles and palm trees on every street. The sun bounced off of the ocean in the distance making it twinkle like the stars. "Wow" I sighed taking in the breath taking view "Pretty swaggy right?" I looked at Dan with the 'seriously?' face and he apologised before a cheeky grin appeared on his face. I placed my hands on the railing whilst I looked over the horizon. My right hand went warm as if there was something on top of it. It was Dans hand. He saw that I noticed and instantly pulled his hand away. "Sorry" he muttered "Its okay, no need to apologise" I turned to face him and looked into his deep brown apologetic eyes. I smiled once again reassuring him and he grinned back. We started to move closer to one another and I didn't know why. I couldn't stop myself. It was like a force that I couldn't pull away from. The distance between our faces went from centimetres to only inches away. Dan cupped his hand around my cheek and our lips brushed past one another's. This was really happening. I think I'm about to kiss Dan Howell. My heart was melting. "AHHHHHHHHHH OH MY GOD ITS DANISNOTONFIRE!!" We jumped and quickly pulled away as if nothing had happened. Looking down we noticed that one of the subscribers from within the hotel had spotted Dan on the balcony. She looked alarmed to see me there but called over her friends anyway. "Uh I think we should go inside and help Phil find his phone charger" he said awkwardly ushering me back into his room. I couldn't help but process what had just happened as I helped Phil with his charger finding. "Got it!" He exclaimed and plugged it into the wall with his phone attached. He then turned to face me "Did Dan show you the view?" I nodded "Well what did you think?" I looked at Dan and then back at Phil "Yeah it looked great, I really really enjoyed the view" I replied watching the corners of Dans lips curve upwards. I think he likes me too <3
