have you never been in love?

Have you never been in love
Until the breath of time exhaled?
All of earth smelt and tasted of life and hope and bliss untouched!

Have you never held a soul
In your heart of hearts so dear
That nothing mattered but their smile
That their presence alone was near?

Has abandon seized your heart
So that no price was too great to bear?
And in agony - felt but a twinge
For the prospect that settled there?

Have you ever been in love?
No mind can withstand such a storm.
Nothing can ever take it's place
No hearth its vacancy can warm.

Where can one go in its death?
For it leaves but dies not at all.
And many find they exist in half
But none live after that great fall.
