Fluctuating Love

Your love comes in different colors
And I can write about it for hours
I can tell  shade from shade
And know that your love will never fade

Once upon a time, it is as pure as white
So delicate and kind, harmless and wouldn't bite
The light of your love eases me from fright
With you in my arms I can sleep soundly at night

When I thought your love is the color of white I was wrong
It is now the bright blood red whose intensity I long
The beating of your heart against mine loud as a gong
This love can keep me alive, I can even write a song

I was content with red but even happier with yellow
I swear I can see the rays of a bright tomorrow
Lifting me off the ground away from sorrow
Your love fills me in, thankful to Cupid for the right arrow

But then not all colors are bright, there are dark ones too
I understand where you're coming from even if you make me blue
This is just a phase, a challenge with you
After all what's a world without a little rain, this will pass and we'll enjoy the view

I guess you grew tired of the blue and shifted to green
You look sour showering with accusations, I don't know what you mean
Jealousy and greed is eating you up, what happened to the man I can lean
I guess the view I am waiting for is too far to be seen

Gloomy and dark, I guess this is where your love has taken me
Blazing black and torment as dangerous as a raging sea
You held me tight drawing colors on my skin, let me breathe hear my plea
My love this love has taken you nowhere sanity

My love I know that your love will never fade
That you and I are forever made
But know that I am not just a canvas laid
That will take all the colors you'll paint me like a helpless maid.
