You.

As the Star collapsed she shone a light,
One that could light up the night.
Holding you in my arms,
Someone who I once knew,
Would never be renewed.
The cry I let out woke the earth,
With a shaky ground I held onto my hearth.
My legs who once ran across the land,
Sunk to their knees as I could not stand.
The eyes you had of golden rays,
Are devoid of joy and all those happy days.
How I wish I could have done more for you,
maybe you could have been standing here anew.
My reason to fight bursted into flames,
The only word I knew in this moment was pain.
The decision let you go was something I felt was insane.
If I didn't keep your light,
Who would have done it?
Who would kindle your fires when the winds threw a fit?
My chest once of stone has shattered into glass,
I can't comprehend that this was the end at last.
Your warmth
Your light,
your voice,
My light,
She was stolen by the night.
If I could go back,
And hold you close,
I don't know if I could reign myself to let you go.
You grew up alone,
Left in the dark,
You chose to be your own light,
And you chose to shine bright.
You cried late nights,
Hugging a pillow,
To pretend you had comfort,
From another.
When they shoved you down,
You choked on your tears,
You feared being seen
You were afraid they wouldn't care.
That the demons would drag you
And rip you to shreds,
As you cried for someone to help you late at night.

Here we are,
A mirror apart,

I want to say I love you,

But I feel I'd just fall apart.

-You
