Forgotten

Mandela,
Kennedy,
Ghandi,
And King,
Were 4 different people who said the same thing,
Equality,
Freedom,
Justice,
And peace,
All things forgotten to say in the least,
Innocent people lay in their beds without freedom of religion,
And guns to their heads,
Justice not served in the "home of the brave" For we imprison the victims,
And the criminals? We save,
Sirens blare all through the night,
Turning silence to shouts,
And peace into fright,
Black men lay shot dead,
By enforcers of law,
If you think that's equality,
I'll tell you it's not.
It's sad to think that the words of the leaders who fought their best,
Were set aside as they were laid to rest,
Equality, Freedom, Justice, and Peace among all as friends,
It no longer exists, for it died with them,
But much like these leaders,
Peace has a soul,
One to be made anew,
By the young and old,
With each together,
Hand in hand,
We can reinvent peace,
And take a stand,
The fact that these leaders are now six feet deep,
Should give us freedom and hope, and their words to keep,
Of all of these virtues, to deal is trust,
Which can lead to the peace within all of us.
