I slowly opened my eyes to see that it was still dark, but I could briefly smell wet grass, so that meant the rain had passed hours ago. I looked over to Pika, who was curled up into a ball, sleeping peacefully. He looked calm, until tears began to flow out his eyes.
"Mommy... Daddy...." He mumbled. My eyebrows furrowed in concern for the mouse Pokemon. I hated to see anyone suffer, so I began petting his head. Pika began shaking his head slowly, as if he was trying to look away from something. But it made no sense, as his eyes were still closed.
"Stop!" He loudly mumbled, still sleeping. "Don't hurt me!" I curled up next to Pika before resting my head on his neck as he continued to shake.
"Everything's gonna be okay, Pika." He continued to shake before I frowned. I then suddenly thought of a song. I don't know how, but the words came to me.
"When you don't know where to go... You never know what you wanna know..."
"The life you live... You get tired of the hope you give.."
"Remain.... Constant.. Love... within you.. There's no use... in feeling blue.."
"Be the yellow... Shining.... Sun to others... And we'll be there, to support... One another.."
"There's.... No use... No use... I feel that too... There's... No use in feeling... Blue."
I pet his head before he stopped shaking. He seemed to calm down as he drifted off into a much more peaceful sleep. Whatever that song was, it worked.
"Pika...Chu.." Pika mumbled as a small smile crept up on his face.
"Yeah..." I whispered, a small smile forming on my face. "Hope you feel better.." I hugged the yellow furred Pokémon as I drifted off into sleep once more.
Pika, Ria, and I walked through the plains of Kanto. Pika seemed to have a new resolve, and a few bandages from what he said was an 'altercation with the unknown'. Pika acts so weird sometimes.. I looked over to Pika, who was walking slightly in front of me. I continued to look, seeing that he wore a stressed glare. I was confused, as he didn't really strike me as the angry type. He seemed to be in deep thought too, as he almost tripped over many things when we started walking.
Ria, who was on my back, was looking around the area. She probably didn't get out too much, just like me. Pika though, he hasn't told us anything apart from the fact that he doesn't know where his parents are. It's so strange... Ria seemed like the surroundings, as she was constantly making noises of surprise and awe. I was glad that she wasn't too worried about our past fight with that mean Growlthe. It was early morning, so the sun was just beginning to rise.
I could feel the sun's heat wash over us as I smiled enthusiastically. I was all ready for a new adventure, and my traveling companions seemed so too. A large wind blew, pushing my fur away from my eyes. I could see the sunrise in its full glory now as I felt my own eyes widen in surprise.
"It's so beautiful!" I exclaimed as all of us briefly stopped.
"I know, right?" Ria asked me from on top of my back, slightly shifting her weight to the left.
"Remind me why we're up so early?" Pika asked with a yawn. "I'm still tired."
"Well you said that you wanted to head to Unova, too." I replied with a smile. "So getting up bright and early is great for it!"
"Whatever Eevee.." Pika sighed, looking away.
"I have a name." I pouted, to which Pika only scoffed in reply.
