"i don't know what you've been told,

see i am not your enemy"

Elena

"I can explain."

Laura clicks her tongue, "I don't understand why you felt the need to steal it." I pursed my lips together, feeling a huge lump from in my throat as anger tears glossed my eyes.

"I swear I didn't put that in my bag! It was her!" I rambled, feeling an overwhelming feeling consume my body. She didn't seem convinced as she studies the wrinkled box in her hand, sliding it towards me.

Anger.

"Was it just a ghost then?"

I groan in frustration, taking out my wallet and placing a bunch of bills onto the counter. "I have enough money for this stuff, it's insulting for you to think I don't," she looks at the money, still not seeming convinced.

"Why would I steal it? What would I gain from that?" I add, my voice cracking from
how angry I am.

"Honey, I'm pretty sure there are places for women to get this stuff if they don't want their parents finding out."

"But-"

"Get out of here, and I won't call the cops." She murmured, keeping her voice quiet so the surrounding customers won't hear.

"C-Call the cops?" I stuttered, my heart racing faster.

She picks up the phone tauntingly, implying that she will indeed call them if I didn't leave.

"Can I at least pay for it?"

She shakes her head, "No."

A frown formed on my face as my lips quivered, rage eating my body as I balled up my fists on the side of my body. I glance at the cameras that were scattered around the place and sighed in relief, "Just look at the cameras."

Laura didn't budge, instead, she watched me carefully as I walked out of the store.

I look to my left to see Beth, an evil smile on her face as she took off her glasses. "Told you, you would regret it," she said innocently, fluttering her fake eyelashes together.

I walk up to her, invading her personal space as I towered over her petite body. The way she was just standing there made me want to beat her the hell up, thinking she won.

"You're lucky you might be pregnant, because if you weren't... you would've already been on your way to the hospital," I whisper with a confidence I didn't know I possessed. I didn't feel slight guilt as I walked across the street and made my way back to the apartment.

I took the stairs, a way to give my legs a punishment as I walked up the long flight of stairs - Laura's face not leaving my mind. The way she looked at me reminds me of the way my parents would look at me, reminds of the way Noah looked at me.

It's fine when you lie and get away with it, but it hits different when you tell the full truth and no one ends up believing you.

I sigh as I reach Zayn's door, pushing it slightly open to see all of them eating waffles and cereal. My gaze fell on the big plate of french toast, assuming they somehow managed to get eyes.

Bea's eyes widened, "Where the hell were you?"

The whole group looks at me, empty-handed. Harry was leaning against the counter with a puzzled look on his face. I looked at the counter to see Harry did end up buying eggs, which made me feel better and less guilty that I didn't leave the group starving when they counted on me.
