Bubbles pop, wounds heal, sicknesses pass, some things in life were just temporary. The sad thing is that you never know what is going to leave your life before it is already gone.

The friend group's safe bubble was bound to pop eventually, with war infecting it, but their wounds were bound to be healed. Eventually.

29 August 1979

Regulus had been debating what he wanted to do after Hogwarts for quite some time. He had thought about healing, but decided he didn't want the long hospital hours—no matter how much Lily wanted him to pursue that. A few other ideas swirled through his head, but he had quite the amount of money to live off of at the moment, so there was no rush for him.

Yet, it seemed the world had had other ideas. Regulus had received a message patronus to visit Doodledorf's office, which had freaked out Craig quite a bit, but he was sure everything would be fine. Doodles probably just needed help with something.

Every time he walked through the castle corridors, the atmosphere seemed to get darker. Perhaps, this was only because there were no students there to fill up the air with laughter. Although, the war was apparent whether the children were at Hogwarts or not.

Taking a deep breath, he knocked and was granted entry into Dumbledore's office. Unlike Sirius, Regulus had been a bit tamer during his time at Hogwarts, which meant he hadn't visited Dumbledore's office anywhere as near the amount of times that his older brother had.

"Mr Black, I'm sure this took you by surprise," Dumbledore greeted him with a brief handshake—which seemed oddly formal to Regulus—before he sat down across from the headmaster.

"Yes, professor, I was definitely not expecting this, but I won't complain," Regulus responded kindly with a charming grin.

Dumbledore adopted a somber expression, one that Regulus had not seen the man wear many times. The  feeling in the air shifted almost immediately and Regulus began to grow nervous. Why was he called here?

"I'm aware that Mr Geyer offered you a home away from your parents and that you accepted, however, many people are still concerned on where your beliefs stand as far as the war goes."

It seemed like there was more that Dumbles wished to say, but the man still paused to see what Regulus had to say—if anything at all.

"I do not believe people should be killed because of their parentage, if that's what you want to know," he replied bluntly.

"I had no doubt that you felt that way as you remind me quite a bit of your brother," Regulus snorted at this, "but it is other people we need to worry about."

"What do you mean, sir?"

"People on both sides of the war do not trust you simply because of you leaving your parents house so abruptly-"

"With all due respect, professor, if they can accept Sirius leaving Grimmauld Place and going to the Potters, then they can accept me leaving and living with Craig. I don't think it's too difficult to understand," he interrupted.

Regulus hadn't really spoken about leaving Grimmauld Place to anyone except Craig and Sirius. He hadn't really wished to speak about the process with Dumbledore, but he didn't have enough momentum to get up and leave. Besides, maybe there was something more important the headmaster had yet to say.

"I'm sure that they will learn that you are just as trustworthy as your brother, but our side of the war is not what I am worried about," Dumbledore spoke wisely, the somber look not gone from his face.
