BCE 2020 - The Biggest Contest Ever, is a gauntlet style poetry contest held by the PoetsPub. Lasting for eight weeks, there is a prompt for every week, totalling to eight prompts.
Week 1: Childhood Theme
Rewrite the lyrics of some of the famous childhood songs - Mary had a little lamb; The Queen of Hearts; Pop goes the weasel; There was a crooked man.
The catch - the rhythm had to be maintained, as the rewritten one had be in the same tune as the original.
Week 2: Childhood Theme
Write a children's bedtime story. In a maximum of twelve quatrains (4 line stanzas) having a rhyme scheme .
Week 3: Childhood Theme
Write a poem from a child's point of view about an imaginary friend, any style, 20 lines long.
Week 4: Childhood Theme
From the collage above, chose one aspect of it and use it as inspiration to write a poem. Any style in thirty lines or less.
