SO!! *claps* Taura, my goth dream woman (shes actually 16 but shh) has heard little voices she knows aren't normal since her early teens. she soon discovers shes a medium, and like any girl hungry for power and validation, completely embraces it and reinvents herself to be her town's resident spooky ghost photographer. none of that "why me oh woe is me i can't be WEIRD im a disappointment to my family" nonsense here. what 16yo would not want to talk to ghosts
Sabine (rose gold iphone hair over here) is famous. she was thrust into the film industry as a child and is put under immense pressure by her family, but at the same time is lowkey neglected. not a good combo. upon befriending Taura, she goes FULL rebellious child mode and starts going on a whole bunch of secret adventures, which quickly leads to her getting pulled into all of Taura's supernatural shit. not that she's complaining :) it's a bit jarring but refreshing for her to have a real friend, and a super weird/blunt one at that.
Maria is dead. shocker. she was murdered at 14 years old and was actually a child star as well. Not an actress, just a nationwide darling who came from a sob-story-milking "rags to riches" family. she's, obviously, traumatized but after more than a decade of being dead there's not a whole lot to say on the subject. she'd just tired and needs a friend. shes FOURTEEN folks she needs someone to talk to :(
anw you can imagine how it goes from there. ghost-seeing girl sees a ghost. waah! girl talks to ghost. girl brings friend to meet ghost. they start investigating who killed their sweet charming ghost friend? adventure. friendship. they become family? Mom?? crashing on your couch cause
