Ch. 5 "Wildfire"

It was the next morning, after last night daddy wouldn't let me leave his side which I don't blame him if I hadn't been on my own for so long I would have never known what to do, 

not to mention being able to hunt and survive since I was able to walk, 

Daddy was using a pick axe to make sure all the dead well stay dead,  

Lets just say everyone was on edge especially with Andrea's sister, she got bit and its like a ticking time bomb, 

"You alright' Cheri you haven't really spoken since last night," Daddy said looking down at me, 

I nodded, 

"It's just... I don't know," I said shaking my head, as I pulled out an arrow from one of the dead's heads, 

Daddy kneeled in front of me, 

"Come on' out with it" Daddy said 

"It's just if you and uncle wouldn't have showed me all the things I know, I would be..." I said looking at Amy in Andrea's arms, 

"Hey now' no thinin like that," Daddy said tucking some hair behind my ear, 

"Come on' we've got a  lot of things to do," He said pointing to all the dead bodies 

I nodded following him 

Daddy walks to Rick and the others, 

"Y'all can't be serious let that girl hamstring us? the dead girl's a time bomb," Daddy said 

You know sometimes I really think it's scary how me and daddy think a like, 

"What do you suggest?" Rick said 

"Take the shock clean in the brain from here, Hell I can hit a turkey between the eyes from this distance," Daddy said 

I was cleaning a arrow I just got out of one of the dead's head, 

"No, for god's sake let her be, and isn't this a bad time to be talking about this in front of her?" Lori said 

Really? I thought 

Shane shrugs his eyebrows, Rick shrugs his shoulders, 

Daddy scoffs, 

"Please Cheri knows how the world works and knows how to protect herself if necessary," Daddy said 

Daddy takes my hand and we walk off and start throwing dead in a fire 

"Wake up, Jimbo we've got some work to do,' Daddy said 

Morales starts panting like he's in pain, 

Daddy drops the pick axe and helps Morales, 

"Thanks," Morales said 

we start to pull a corpse to the fire where the walkers are being burned, 

"What are you guys doing? this is for geeks our people go over there," Glenn said 

"What's the difference? They're all infected" Daddy said 

"Our people go in that row over there, we don't burn them! we bury them understand?" Glenn said 

Me daddy and Morales start to pick up the body back up dragging it to where Glenn points 

"Our people go in that row over there," Glenn said
