Ch. 6 "Meeting Jenner"

                                      Cherokee POV 

I'm right next to daddy, 

"Daryl you cover the back," Shane said 

"Hello? Hello?" Rick said 

"Close those doors watch for walkers," Dale said 

All of us enter and looked around at the lobby it's empty, 

"Hello?" Rick said 

A man is standing in the doorway a rifle in his hands 

"Anybody infected?" He asked 

"One of our group was, he didn't make it," Rick said 

"Why are you here? what do you want?" The man said 

"A chance," Rick said 

"That's asking an awful lot these days," The man said 

"I know," Rick said 

The man looks at everyone including me,

"You all submit to a blood test, that's the price of admission," The man said 

"We can do that," Rick said 

The man lowers his weapon, 

"You got stuff bring in, you do it now once this door closes it stays closed," The man said 

I didn't have much to begin with just my arrows quiver and bow, and some clothes in a backpack, 

"Vi seal the main entrance Kill the power up here," The man said 

a thick door slides down,

"Rick Grimes," Rick said 

we all follow him in the elevator, I was close to daddy, 

"Dr. Edwin, Jenner," He said 

"Doctors always go around packing heat like that?" Daddy asked as he leaned against the wall of the elevator 

"There were plenty left lying around i familiarized myself but you look harmless enough," Jenner said 

He looked at Carl, 

"Except you I'll have to keep my eye on you," Jenner said 

Carl smiles 

Jenner leads us out of the elevator,

"Vi, bring up the lights in the big room welcome to zone 5," Jenner said 

"Where is everybody? the other doctors the staff?" Rick asked 

"I'm it, its just me here," Jenner said 

"What about the person you were speaking with? Vi?" Lori asked 

"Vi, say hello to our guests, tell them... welcome," Jenner said 

"Hello guests welcome," A computer voice said 

"I'm all that's left, I'm sorry," Jenner said 

"What's the point? If we were infected we'd all be running a fever," Andrea said as he took her blood, 

"I've already broken every rule in the book letting you in here, let me just at least be through, all done," Jenner said 

I was sitting next to daddy, I was so tired, I haven't had a good nights sleep in a long time,
