Midnight held the sword steady at Shadow's chest. "Midnight, what are you doing?! This isn-" "This is me, Sonic. And this isn't HIM!" Her voice rose. "How can you just stand by and let HIM try and swoon you!" Sonic looked confused. Before he could question her any further, and voice called out to Midnight. "Drop your weapon. Now." She obeyed and lowered her sword. King Jules walked up and looked at Shadow. "Well, guess we have another soul to dispose of." Sonic jump forward, in front of his father. "Dad, wait! Can I at least explain? I was going to see, if I trained him or at least help him in any way, if he could live in the kingdom with us?" Midnight hissed and snarled. "You can't be serious!" The king held his hand up. "What do you think I will Get in return of.....helping him?" This time, Shadow stepped forward and kneeled. "If I may, King Jules, may I remind you that I have been trained to fight, for I was hoping you could recruit me to be one of you Knights or maybe a guard. That would test my loyalty and if it pushes me over the edge, then you can or ask one of your knight to, dispose of me."
