NOVEMBER ENDED FASTER THAN THE WINCHESTERS EXPECTED, barely a week into December and the weather was already sweater worthy. It's been at least a week since Sam and Dean's conversation in the garage, and the youngest brother couldn't figure out a good way to sit down and apologize to Olive.
He tried doing it in simple acts, like coloring with her at the table or sitting by her side when she wanted to watch TV—where he tried forming an apology, only to be shut down when he realized Olive was fast asleep on the couch.
They hadn't taken a case since the Dragons and none of them were that upset about it. Sam could see how much Dean needed the vacation, considering he spent every waking moment with Olive.
It made Sam happy to see how much time Dean took out of his day to take care of her and make her feel included, even when the job got in the way. Sam knew it was because their father did the exact opposite when they were children. Dean wanted to stray as far away from his father's parenting.
"So, I just got off the phone with Bobby." Dean announced, walking into the main area of the motel room and making a bee-line straight to the table where Olive sat organizing her rocks.
"He got anything else on this Mother Of All thing?" Sam asked, looking away from the TV.
Dean could be seen poking Olive's rocks out of place, making her angry as she put them back in a straight line ( Only to be poked again ) Sometimes Dean acted more like a child than his actual child.
"Nope. Nothing solid." He says, slightly distracted. "It's been quiet."
Sam's phone beeps on the nightstand. "Quiet like quiet, or quiet like too quiet?" He asked, grabbing the phone.
"When is it ever just quiet?" Dean scoffs.
Olive shakes her head. "If she really is the mother of all, her garden must be full." She said knowingly.
Dean turns to her, confused. "Huh?"
"Her garden." She repeated innocently, looking between the men who continued to stare confused. "The one where the babies are kept!"
"Olive. . .where do you think babies come from?" Sam said, amused.
"When the mommy and daddy want a baby, she goes into the garden and pulls it out of the dirt. Like a flower." Olive explained as if it were the obvious thing in the world.
